Alright I'm really having trouble deciding. Im not a B&N member (although ill most likely sign up next month) so i wanna take advantage of this coupon. I can't decide between The America box set or a Kurosawa (most likely Rashomon or Yojimbo/Sanjuro). As much as I want the America set I'm not sold

So many Hitchcock I never seen, so I listed them:

Young and Inncoent
Sabotage
Stagefright
Mr & Mrs.Smith
Under Capicorn
The Paradine Case
I Confess
The Lodger

The ones in bold have been released by Criterion I believe.

Yeah, it's not the unmitigated disaster people sometimes make it out to be but yeah, there's definitely quite a bit of room for improvement.

I grabbed it for like ten bucks somewhere and didn't particularly regret it.

Oh, I do own it. The transfer, while not a disaster, was definitely disappointing.

Studio Canal has just restored Ran in 4K, so look out for a new release soon (whether or not they only release it in Europe is another matter)

Sabotage is also available from them on either iTunes or Hulu.

You're better off getting Kurosawa films. Not only are they fun, but they have much more replay value.

I think iScottie is selling his America Lost and Found for 55.00 in the trading section. That is if you don't have a problem buying it used. Maybe cheaper by a few bucks.

Most likely Europe only like The Third Man 4K. The last release of Ran was Region A/B in the UK, so hopefully it's the same with any new disc too.

Shockingly, considering Keira's in it, I have never seen London Boulevard (I'm sort of a Keira fanatic ). But yeah, I didn't hear good things about it at the time. And you're absolutely right: That trailer is top shelf. One day, I will have to sit down and take my medicine. It is Keira after all.

Drive, He Said was much better than I expected as well, although I found the finale off-putting. The only film in this set that I didn't really think much of was A Safe Place, I've seen a couple of Henry Jaglom films and I haven't enjoyed any of them. Head is a bit of a mess, but it has some interesting highlights, particularly Davy Jones's "Daddy's Song" musical number.

Ha, you're right. I actually forgot that I was selling it.

Both America and Complete Jacques Tati for $55.

My Criterion dream is The Decalogue. Also, The New World would make me very happy. And any more Bresson is a plus, with some of his later, harder to find titles being more than a plus!
