Kudos to whoever saw Breaker in the New Year's cartoon. Super excited by The Breaker, of course, especially for the New 4K digital restoration (previous releases had unimpressive resto's that would not stand up to 4K). And the Kieślowski, which is the first domestic release of the excellent Martin Scorsese Presents Masterpieces of Polish Cinema series. I guess that means CC did not sign up for the whole show since it is not promoted as such. Maybe Arrow will pick up some of the other intriguing titles.

I wonder if this is why it was delayed. The rocks alone might have been the original plan that ran afoul of some contractual requirement regarding title size or placement.

Thanks, Owl. I sometimes have luck browsing my local Hastings stores. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

They may as well have released Don's Party hah

Don's Party...phfft...

What we really need is a double-feature release of The Adventures of Barry McKenzie and Barry McKenzie Holds His Own.

The series was just a selection of films that have recently been restored in Poland, not something like Scorsese's World Cinema Project.

Remember they drew the blue key from Mulholland Dr? Wonder why they did that?

Lol, yeah it's a light month. I thought something like Mulholland Dr. was going to be announced for Sept, but it didn't occurred.

Anyway, Breaker sounds good. I don't know if they're similar, but I recently enjoyed The Water Diviner, and I thought that Gallipoli was great, so I'm looking forward to it. Other than that, nothing. Light month for me.

True, but the distribution was by Scorses's Film Foundation/Milestone, so I would assume that Home Entertainment rights were partially involved, but for all I know it could've been theatrical only.

It never really feels like announcement time around here until this sort of post is added. Now it's official!

I agree with you on this and you're right about the Criterion C would be better yellow.

Or they could have put craters on the C.

I'll check them all out if I can, and probably upgrade Moonrise Kingdom, but nothing is jumping out to me this month.

The titles are great and all but personally, for me, it was Mulholland or bust oh well... More of an October film I guess

Moonrise Kingdom could have definitely done without the yellow title.

All kidding aside, I know there are fans who love some of these films and Im happy for them. August really was an awesome month.. Im guessing that Mulholland Drive is probably around the corner..maybe October along with The Brood or something ? Im guessing there will be 1-2 horror titles in October.
