You see, I ordered a copy of Armageddon on DVD from Amazon (well, it was only $11 brand new, and I wanted the Criterion-exclusive bonus features). I'm sure that the entire staff passed out when word spread they had sold another copy after all this time.
I doubt that that's true. It's more likely that your buying the Criterion DVD pushed them into upgrading it to Blu-ray, and they need to juggle the March schedule to get that out.

Do you face out the empty box and put the individual movies in their spine spots?

Peace, bro. Nix the attitude and come hang with us when you want to talk about a Criterion title.

Agreed. One of the most useless posters I've seen on this site.

One can only hope for that box set

I am not that disappointed, since the phantom pages were added very close the the 15th I am pretty sure those titles are going to be announced (also they added a photo from Boyhood on Instagram), so I am just waiting for the upgrade.

If the set itself has a spine number, I file it by that with the set spine facing out. If it doesn't (like the Gregory/Wallace set), I file the movie individually and put the box at the end of the collection. For sets that have non-consecutive spine numbers (like Lean and Tati), I still keep everything together if they're in digipaks. If they were in regular cases, I'd probably put the odd spine in its rightful spot.

Dudes, it's bad enough I can't watch 5 minutes of TV without seeing 40 ads for Star Wars batteries, cars, and whatever cheap plastic garbage Target is selling, do you really need to drag Star Wars in here?

(I'm seeing Episode 7 tomorrow and would totally but that box set though)

I know this is going to sound far-fetched to some, but I think these constant delays are meant to draw attention to the date itself, and is thus a clue.

Now let's begin..

The new date is 12/17/15

If you attribute each number to a letter of the alphabet you get L.Q.O.

Re-arranging that you get Q.O.L, whch is a common acronym for Quality of Life

Quality is phonetically Kwal-leh-tee. So it can be read Kwal-leh-tee of Life . Are you seeing what I'm seeing?

This is very clearly a clue showing that they're going to release Malick's The Tree of Life

With all the foreign films CC has, they probably read the date as 17/12/2015

Are we sure they are going to announce those titles with phantom pages? I just don't want to get my hopes up for the titles we've been hinted at.

A very intriguing theory, but the only problem with it is that you forgot the variable. I just bought The Tree of Life not too long ago, but I only spent $3 on it, which is far under the minimum needed to appease the Criterion Gods. If I would have spent the $14.99 on the used copy I found a couple of months ago, it would have already been announced by now.

They have added phantom pages in the past, but only of one certain person and not a whole lot of people from a certain movie in successive order. (could be mistaken here, need to check with one of those earlier phantom pages)

I'm betting it on being Malick's The New World rather than The Tree of Life though.

Huge Malick fan...own all his Criterion releases.

But I don't really think Tree of Life needs a Criterion release to be honest.

I really like the cover art on the current blu-ray release and I doubt the special features would be significantly better.

I would much rather see Jon Mulvaney get off his sorry butt and get the Le Samourai release taken care of.

Did you hear that Mulvaney?

...I'm done playing around.

If you were done playing around, you'd put up the money to have Le Samouraļ restored to pristine condition, so that Criterion would release it on Blu-ray.

On top of that, I much prefer The New World as a film to Tree of Life. I'm also interested in seeing the different cuts.
