Is there any indication that Criterion will release Lawrence Olivier's Hamlet and Henry V on Blu-ray?

For the past several years I have maintained self discipline during the Criterion Flash Sales and ordered only a few each sale. I usually wait to get most of what I want at the B&N sales. Today that all went out the window.

I swore I would only make the one order using my $10 coupon I had been saving since last year:

The Graduate
Death By Hanging
I Knew Her Well
Lady Snowblood
Bitter Rice

Then after work I threw in the towel on my monthly budget and made a second order:

The Emigrants/The New Land
The American Friend
The Kid

I reasoned that it's a long time to July and the only other title I will pick up between now and then will be In a Lonely Place on release day. I think alcoholics, gamblers, and diet cheats make similar arguments with themselves.

Given that Tinto Brass commented SENSO was too gay before making a hot blooded heterosexual sexy version "more true to the book" I'm amazed we never got Tinto Brass' SALO.

I know this isn't Criterion related but a really cool tribute to Andrzej Zulawski from Massive Attack and the stunning Rosamund Pike.

I always hoped Criterion would release the Claude Chabrol collection with his best outputs from the 60's & 70's, supervised by Jean Rabier, but it definitely won't happen now

Placed my first Criterion Flash sale order.

Ordered:
Anatomy Of A Murder
Design For Living
Investigation Of A Citizen Above Suspicion
L'Avventura
L'Eclisse
Rosemary's Baby

A lot of them I'd been sitting on for a while, and Investigation in particular I'd been meaning to pick up for so long, but cautious of the packaging and the long journey to me. But I trust Criterion more than I do Barnes & Noble. I had over $300 worth in my cart, narrowing it down was really hard. I regret not picking up a couple, Senso, Bitter Rice, Gilda, etc.

By the way, do Criterion include an invoice inside their shipments?

For a Few Dollars More made me take notice of Gian Maria Volontè, and Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion cemented him as one of the finest actors I have ever seen. The film itself is a brilliantly sobering satire of the Italian legal system during the Years of Lead, with a very good, somewhat minimalist score by Morricone, and a flawless performance by Volontè as the sociopathic police inspector. It is one of my favorite Criterion releases.

I'm watching now Fanny and Alexander , the TV version (for the 2nd time).
I had watched the 1st Christmas episode around Christmas and now I'm watching the rest.
I've never seen the theatrical version but I don't think I could watch a severely cut version, I like this as it is.

However, I can't find anywhere in the net a detailed overview of what's been cut (you know, like those overviews that are in the movie cencorship site).
Anyone know a place to look?

Oh it's alright guys, enjoy your 50 per cent flash sale, enjoy it good, enjoy all the movies you buy, rub them over your body, whatever, it's cool.

…I as a non-American will just wait til July…and try to hold back the tears!

Do you think criterion would ever add a terrible movie to the collection (and not just as an April fools day prank)? For example, I'd love to see them release The Room... add a new documentary, a 4K transfer, some awesome cover art... It would just be the best

It would have to be a film of some historic significance... Or be a part of a box set. For example, A Safe Place (I think this is the 117th time I mention it in this thread) on the BBS box set. That movie sucks more than a black hole and would never get a standalone release, but because they wanted to release a complete BBS collection, they included it.

Damn it, I ordered that! To be fair, I definitely realize it's an oddity, and I'm insanely curious about it - for better or worse.

Just curious:
Did you order it like that without knowing anything or did you see the trailer and thought it would be something that interested you and you ordered it?
Because seeing the trailer was enough for me to confirm that I have absolutely no interest in this film.

Not this time, but I remember seeing the trailer before. It looks weird as hell. It will be one of those movies I'll either love or hate. But the way I look at it, the total cost for Jellyfish Eyes and another set was roughly the same as what I would have normally paid for the set on its own, so I'm getting JE for free in a way (and adding it to the order gave me free shipping).
