I won't be horrified if the announcement is delayed for these October horror films they might include!

I'll still be too high on Dolls to notice whatever they release in October...

All of a sudden several Criterion titles are listed as temporarily out of stock and no longer available to order; what happened to the "ship when available" option?
I recall being able to order temporarily out of stock items.

I'm glad I'm laying low for this sale, coupons or not. The only titles I bought so far were both in-store: The Manchurian Candidate and Fantastic Planet.

I was afraid that the big order I placed last night might have been cancelled, but I received a shipping confirmation a couple of hours ago, and all 11 items are on their way.

I sincerely hope they reinstate the coupon so that everyone else can use it.

Because of the insane number on online orders this hasn't been a tremendous problem in the past. A few items would go OOS during a sale, but other than near Black Friday there has never really been the insanely low online prices available (esp for International) the warehouse may be far more than overwhelmed vs what they planned for
It's jmclick's fault, and we all know it!

Barnes and Noble shipped my recent order via UPS even though I checked the option on my account saying I can't receive UPS.

Wanted to add, UPSMI = UPS Mail Innovations. It's where it's actually delivered by USPS (your local postman/woman), but travels across the majority of the journey throughout potentially the entire country by UPS trucks that USPS outsources to. (Either that, I have it mixed up a bit and UPS outsources final delivery to USPS, not sure which actually). I hope they sent it UPSMI for him!

The coupons and member discount have been huge for me. I'll be picking up three more films tomorrow morning, and barring a few last minute purchases closer to the end of the sale, I'll have added 15 individual releases (16 films), and 2 boxed sets, to my collection.

Without the coupons and discounts, I'd have paid $446.38.
With these goodies, 24 Criterion films ended up hitting me for $353.02. Adding in the $25 membership fee, and I'm still ahead $68.36.

Also as good as Mail Innovations sounds, it is just a fancy name for their slowest shipping method available, not sure where their warehouse is but it takes ages to get here.

So do I.

My order got here this afternoon. I'm impressed at their turn around time. About 48 hours from the time they got my order until it crossed my doorstep via their Kentucky center.

I picked up the following:

Dunno if I'll go back. There were a few title missing, or they only had dvd copies available.

Give it a few days, and then check the B&N site. You can search for stores by zip code, and then check to see if a film you want is in stock. You can also reserve it, if it is. No reason to ever go to a store without knowing in advance if they have the film you want.

I actually did search online before going. Royal Tenenbaums was marked as 'not in stock', but they actually had one copy available.

I could have gotten one or two more, but didn't want to spend all my money this week. I'm currently waiting for a sale at my local record shop too.

That's cool. They also get stock in, I expect a few times a week, so you never know when something that has been out of stock will be replenished.

Worst case scenario, if I go in, and something I want isn't there, I can just have them put in an order for me. The store is only a few miles away, thankfully.

I hope you get everything you want.

Am I the only one who found Kings of the Road to be considerably the better one of the Wim Wenders road trilogy?

I would go:

Kings of the Road 8/10
Alice in the Cities 7/10
Wrong Move 6/10

Overall of the 8 Wenders movies I have seen I would say Paris, Texas is still the best, followed closely by Wings of Desire and Kings of the Road

Would love to get Ugetsu. I imagine sometime (hopefully) soon we'll see that new 4K transfer.

I've only seen the first two films in the trilogy, but I really wouldn't doubt that that's the case when I watch Kings today. I was rather disappointed by Alice in the Cities. Wrong Move, however, did somewhat grab me. I found it easy to get sucked into some of those gorgeous shots.

At the moment my overall top three are Paris, Tx. , Wings, and The American Friend.

Just got a $10 of $50 coupon in my email this morning. Going to pick up a few more at lunch today.
