Haven't had a chance much to post in the last few years (personal life got in the way) and been very much out of the loop concerning the Criterion releases. Was very surprise and happy to see that La Planete Sauvage is getting a release, can't wait for that. I haven't been reading the Criterion news letters either (my bad) and I am wondering if there is been news or hints about Alexander Nevsky or Ivan The Terrible being release on Blu-Ray?
You're missed, but not far from our thoughts. Hope all is well.

Plenty.

Jeanne Dielman
The Concrete Jungle
Libeled Lady
Andrei Rublev
The Passion of Joan of Arc
Le Samouraï
Paper Moon
What's Up, Doc?
Hamlet
Shanghai Express

Criterion announcing any of these films on Monday would make me happier than a singing telegram nurse showing up at my front door when I'm sick...

So criterion' s Lone Wolf & Cub would be only the first movie or all the movies in the series (I would assume the latter - right?)

All of them. The question is whether it'll also include the Shogun Assassins versions too.

Took a while for them to ship this but it finally came in. Too bad criterion took it off of sale so soon after they announced it.

Ball of Fire

Every month when Criterion announcement day draws near, I sit in a corner each morning and chant over and over:

Ball of Fire, Ball of Fire, Ball of Fire

....and The Day of the Jackal.

And for more film noir....The Big Clock and Criss Cross.

Those are just my new films. I have my list of about 25 high priority upgrades.

Any or all of the following would be nice:

Le Samourai
The Cranes are Flying
Ballad of a Soldier
The Naked Prey
Pickup on South Street
The Lady Eve
Thieves Highway
The Naked City
The Bad Sleep Well
Drunken Angel
Stray Dog
Red Beard
Samurai Rebellion
An Angel at My Table
Heaven Can Wait
The Furies
The Passion of Joan of Arc
Elevator to the Gallows
Andrei Rubiev
The Last Wave
The Human Condition
The Burmese Harp
Fire on the Plain
Bergman's Faith Trilogy
The Virgin Spring
Youth of the Beast
Fallen Idol
Touchez pas au grisbi

.....and the remaining two films from the Hiroshi Teshigahara box set

I can vouch for the Japanese release. The PQ is great. I picked it up a couple of months back; $23 shipped. One of the things I like most about Amazon is the ability to easily order from any country with the same account.

Ah, the fine art of a fake Criterion cover, I love those.

Probably has been mentioned before on this gigantic thread, but this is a good source for Criterion-related chuckles and giggles and laughs:
