^I didn't so much care for Fish Tank but loved Arnold's 2011 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, it's raw and passionate and has great naturalistic visuals. If you are region free I recommend the UK release as the US disc is window-boxed

[Show spoiler]
Yes, I'm region-free. The breaking point was I really wanted to start to collect some Ozu films, and they weren't available here. Plus I really wanted Ghost World and Sliding Doors, and they were only available in Germany that I could find.

Oh, and also, I hated my Samsung player.

I'll definitely look into Wuthering Heights. I also need to see American Honey -- looks right up my alley. Thanks.

You could get it new for the same or less if you wait for the July Barnes & Noble 50% sale and stack it with a voucher.

He said usd meaning US Dollars, not used
This is, I think, the reduced set that's blu-ray only. Wonder how that affects the packaging.
In any case even 100$ for 25 movies works out as 4$ a movie, sounds like a great deal to me.

Criterion will announce new releases on the 15th of the month unless the following occurs:
  • The 15th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, in which case announcements may be the following Monday
  • The Monday after the weekend of the 15th is a holiday, in which case announcements may be the following Tuesday
  • The 15th is a holiday, in which case announcements may be the following business day (please see other exceptions for potential further delays)
  • The 15th falls on a holiday on a Sunday, in which case some may not be back in the office on Monday so the announcements may be on the following Tuesday
  • The 15th falls on a Friday, in which case some have left for the weekend and announcements may be delayed to the following Monday (please see earlier exceptions for potential further delays)
  • Lastly, if they simply just do not wish to announce, releases will be revealed at their earliest convenience. And you'll buy them anyway you sucker.

Did I miss anything?

[Show spoiler]This is just in jest, I really don't care. Like I said, going to buy them anyway LOL
It's really more like:

While never officially committing to a specific announcement schedule, Criterion generally announces it's releases 3 months in advance on a non holiday weekday, somewhere near the middle of each month.

[Show spoiler]and maybe also: however, many Criterion fans inexplicably think Criterion has promised them announcements on the 15th of each month, and get bent out of shape when that doesn't happen, which it frequently doesn't.

The BFI blu ray is a joy. The man needs more blu ray releases.

A 4k remaster of an SD video sourced barely lit movie?

I think Amazon listing is for bd/dvd set, so still the same big old set. not sure if there's a new smaller set..

The Svankmajer Kickstarter from last year had all his movies on blu ray as a perk (minus ALICE & FAUST) with a delivery date of 2018. So we'll probably see releases of everything next year when his new movie drops.
