You find the most recent People page Criterion put out, and increase the number at the end of the URL. You can do the same with the pages for the films, though the People pages appear earlier than ones for the films.

I think it'd be wiser to simply expect announcements on the 16th. It's been a year or so that they announce more on that day than on the 15th.

Outside of Playtime which was part of a set I'm surprised CC hasn't re-released/reissued some of their titles that have been remastered/restored.

Titles like 3 Women and The Leopard come to mind.

For sure - as long as you avoid customs you should be able to get titles for around £17 delivered (based on buying five titles in one order to split postage costs). No way to get US Criterions cheaper in the UK!

It's been fine for me over the past few years. Always a bit of a customs risk tho obviously, you just never know.

Also, 12 Angry Men is an absolute must own.

I'm a bit scared to even to start making my sale list. Either way I have to scale back my usual 30+ title hauls. Definitely getting Before trilogy, Ugetsu, Multiple Maniacs and a couple 40's and/or 50's titles

Did any silent stuff come out this year?
The silent Hitchcock "The Lodger" is coming out later this month from Criterion. Other than that I can't recall any other Criterion silents this year

I guess there's also Limite, but that's part of the World Cinema Project No. 2 set, so not a standalone.

Maybe they're still announcing new titles today. Different rules apply this late. Know what I mean? It's like... after hours...

Watched Stalker tonight on YouTube.

What an excellent post-apocalyptic journey into the center core of humanity.

I really wanted to believe this was some type of clever (but cruel) way to announce AH last month, but I was wrong.

But what the hell, I'll believe it anyway this time.

Certainly is. I too love the cover art, one of my favorite Criterion covers.

M comes recommended strongly from me as well, also has a great cover.

I wish they would, their aim is to preserve and present films in their best presentation possible. I'm hoping they'll consider The Leopard and Paris, Texas also really needs an upgrade. Belle de Jour was recently restored in 4K as well, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a Criterion or two that has been bested elsewhere in the world. There is The Third Man and The Man Who Fell to Earth, but those Criterion releases are OOP, and the 4K remasters are accessible for everyone.

Aren't we due for another Lynch title? The last one was Mulholland Drive in October 2015. The Elephant Man announced for September or October perhaps?

Also, as someone who hasn't seen any Tarkovsky, is there a film of his that's a good starting point or doesn't it matter? Is Stalker a good introduction? I've wanted to watch that for years and this forthcoming Criterion Blu-ray will be my chance to.

I stopped by one of my local Barnes and Noble stores today for the 40% off sale, and the clerk said the Criterion sale would be starting July 11th, in case no one has posted it yet.

If you're looking to dip your toe into Tarkovsky then I'd recommend Ivan's Childhood. It's certainly his most accessible film but it features all of his trademarks. If you like that then I'd take the plunge with Solaris or Stalker, the biggest difference with them is the pacing. I've know a lot of people who've been curious about Tarkovsky and started with Solaris or Stalker and the pacing has just been too much of a barrier for them and they've given up.

Fire Walk With Me is gonna be the next one since Janus has the rights. But I wouldn't mind a Lynch box set (hint, hint)

Other than glacially slow pace, with many scenes of people just staring into space / lying down / driving on a twisty road

Ivan's Childhood is also a lot more more direct and dramatic and action-packed than say, Solaris or Stalker
