Makes me think that we might see a Criterion box set of the 3 Universal films that Hughes did in '84-'85.

Unless criterion or he rights to the ton of extra footage. Would love to see it all.

It would only be stupid if they aren't able to get to release any of the deleted scenes. There were a couple scenes they used to include on the TV cut that were awesome.

No DVD or BLU has ever included them at all. As many times as Universal have released this title they have always failed with giving fans anything substantial. We want those deleted scenes! I'd love the longer cut of the film but that seems like it would be asking for too much.

It could be the greatest John Hughes release ever if they do it right.

(although I have to admit I really hate that
[Show spoiler]pot smoking
scene! Emilio's character just goes
[Show spoiler]so over the top and the bit of the breaking glass is too out there to be in reality.

Well, possible different cut change the things, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, it's a club sandwich and there is coffee. Is it one of the two shorts called Coffee Club that have no votes on IMDB?! Or the Bollywood movie Shri Rajeshwari Coffe Club?!

(Yeah right)

My initial reaction was Breakfast at Tiffany's as the ends of the hors d'œuvre sticks seem too pronounced and could almost pass as a piece of jewellery. But The Breakfast Club makes much more sense.

Yeah, most definitely Breakfast Club.

Agreed. I was well out of high school, but I never understood the love for it either. I enjoyed Sixteen Candles and even Pretty in Pink, but I thought The Breakfast Club was no better than an ABC After-school Special.

If it is a clue that is actually for a release, that is strongly speculated to be the one it's for.

A drawing hint for The Breakfast Club, and a Criterion name-drop for George A. Romero?

Criterion is making me really happy on this rainy and bleak Atlanta day.

I've owned The Breakfast Club in every home video format, and I've double-dipped on Blu-ray by replacing the initial release with the remastered one from a couple of years ago. I'll happily buy it again if Criterion releases it, and that will probably be my final version.

I'm hoping you're right, but I think that the plate would have french fries and gravy on it as opposed to a club sandwich if that were the case.

That said, there's a bunch of films from Barry Levinson I'd love to see Criterion get their hands on. Bugsy, Wag The Dog and all of his "Baltimore" films would be great Criterion titles.

It's a club sandwich with eggs, and bacon in it. It's literally a breakfast club.

Never been big on most John Hughes stuff, and count me in as one who never thought much of The Breakfast Club. Kinda surprised about Criterion going in for this (assuming The Breakfast Club is the correct guess), but obviously it will make plenty of people happy.

So now it's pretty obvious that we will be getting Night of the Living Dead. Regarding the latest clue, I'd be so happy with a new release of The Breakfast Club. Maybe we will be getting a John Hughes box set that includes The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Weird Science.

Yeah, I REALLY don't like that one. Most of the characters are loathsome and I always hated what they do with the Ally Sheedy character.

I will watch Sixteen Candles over it ANY day, at least that one's funny and most of the characters are likable. (even if it is very, very un-PC today) Plus, no stupid dance montage!

The reality of the situation is that they need to release mainstream films in order to help finance their world cinema ventures.
