The difference between the 10th and the 17th for me is two different monthly credit card cycles, so I'd definitely rather the 17th. I have already spent enough of this month's balance that I hope the sale winds up applying to next month's balance. You should just anticipate spending a certain amount and set that aside, but then if it comes later and you have a little extra you can splurge on something else on top.

That Newsletter ad for Night of the Living Dead is mighty convincing, too.

Yep, a very straightforward clue there. No mistaking that one.

What if Criterion surprises us all and releases "Silence of the Hams", the godawful spoof with Dom Deluise? The only thing funnier would be to see them release "Sweet Sixteen", the Ken Loach film, instead of "Sixteen Candles", which I actually think will happen.

I've never picked up Silence of the Lambs on blu ray so I'll get this for sure.

On a different note, I just seen the trailer for Jacques Audiard's Dheepan for the first time. I have to have this movie.

I already own the 09 version, now I will be double dipping, which I rarely have done for a BluRay. Hopefully, it keeps all the extras from the 09 versions along with any new extras. Also hopefully this can be a January release, what better way for me to spend holiday and birthday money?

Glad to see that. Will be nice to get it back into the collection (with a 16x9 transfer).

I'd really love to figure out how to get the newsletter. I've asked for years and I've never found a signup page.

Great to see The Silence of the Lambs go back to Criterion. Also, there are discussions about reviving the excellent TV series Hannibal.

My idea for a feature on the upcoming BR release: Hopkins and Mikkelsen discuss the character Dr. Hannibal Lecter. It would be a huge coup if they could have it arranged. Both actors portray Lecter differently but both are brilliant.

The cartoon hint reminds me that I upgraded my old Criterion DVD of Louis Malle's Black Moon to Blu-ray a year or so ago, but I still haven't summoned the nerve to watch the movie again. Soon...

Man, The Silence of the Lambs getting a proper remastering from Criterion and Hannibal possibly returning for a fourth season. It's a great time to be a Fannibal.

The best bits are all in the trailer. Not as great a film as his previous 2 A Prophet & Rust and Bone.

A Prophet is baaaad ass. I haven't seen Rust and Bone. Honestly, that one doesn't really look interesting to me. I'm not saying I wouldn't watch it, just that it's not at the top of my to watch list.

As for Dheepan, thanks for your reply, but I'm gonna give it a definite go. Well get it in the next sale if not before then.

So glad about the chances of Night of the Living Dead to the Collection. Romero was a master at showing how humans were the real monsters. Can’t think of any other filmmaker who can do that as eloquently as he did. RIP to a genius. If finally true, Day 1, absolutely. Hopefully, Martin is added as well.

They've really dumbed down these clues of late. They used to be a challenge. I want to see Polaroid turn this one into The Tree of Life. I still have my ancient Criterion dvd of Silence... and for some reason never got around to getting the $5 BD copy at Target so I'll wait and see what this edition offers.
