Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid
Hedwig & The Angry Inch
Wong Kar-wai Films

I'll wind up owning the majority of those if/when they happen. But the one that has me most excited at the moment is A Face in the Crowd. And while I'm thinking about Patricia Neal, when the hell is someone going to release Hud?

I didn't know if it was right to give a "thanks" to that post, seeing it came broken, but I gave you one just for the purchase.

I also plan to pick up Gimme Shelter during the next sale. It will be the first time I've seen it since it came out. I remember seeing it at my local theater on a Tuesday night (Mondays and Tuesdays were reduced admission days) and there were only two other people in the theater. Powerful film and I still can't figure out why it wasn't more popular.
Yeah, in the commentary for "Gimme Shelter", the director mentions how it's one of those films where if you watch it once, you'll find yourself watching it again and again and again.

Like you said, probably because it's a niche kind of documentary, or low-budget, it isn't always mentioned when "great films" are brought up, yet those who have seen it seem to find themselves addicted to it.

I bought a copy of Jean Cocteau's Oprheus the other day. I was shopping for a new Smiths poster and really liked the one they had for the release of their single This Charming Man. I didn't know who was in the image, but figured it was from some film. So, yeah, it's Jean Marais from Orpheus. I got intrigued by the premise of the film, so I went for it.

Any dates for the next B&N Criterion sale in November yet?

Also, isn't there a Criterion flash sale due soon?

Maybe it was done on purpose, you know, to be ironic.

These have been the dates of the previous flash sales in October:

2016: October 17th (Mon.)
2015: October 6th (Tues.)
2014: October 9th (Thurs.)
2013: October 1st (Tues.)

And prior to that they were doing them in September. So yeah, that wasn't really any help whatsoever as to what day this month it'll happen. Could be tomorrow, could be next Tuesday, who knows. Many believe that they do the sale on, or after the biggest release of the month. That would be Barry Lyndon, on the 17th, so I guess that's the most likeliest day, or week, it'll happen.

That would be nice. Really looking forward to the Barry Lyndon release.

I hope it's at the end of the month so Personal Shopper can be included.

Eh, it would make the same crowd happy that wanted Dr Strangelove and Fire Walk With Me. Though it would actually LOSE a ton of features in this case.

"...Fire Walk with Me" didn't have a standalone release though.

Outside of The Final Cut, the rest of the cuts are unavailable for sale right now on physical media. I'm sure Warner is planning to re-release them eventually again, but there are things that Criterion could provide right now that aren't available currently. They could also do Dangerous Days in HD, and actually have the movies in something that isn't VC-1. But anyway, this isn't going to happen.

Unless a miracle happens, Dangerous Days will never see the light of day on HD. Warner has checked their archives and they only have it in standard definition.

I see a few Blu-rays that have five different cuts for sale on this very site. Very expensive though.

The 4K UHD release of Blade Runner includes all of the other cuts of the movie on a separate disc.
