Question since I'm new to the thread... is there any chance that Criterion releases The Rock and RoboCop on Blu-ray since they had previously released them on DVD?

I wouldn't say RoboCop is impossible now that they have been re-licesning the early MGM titles (Sid & Nancy, The Silence of the Lambs).

They've already released it on Blu-ray twice though. Chances are at this point they would make more licensing it to Criterion, unless they go UHD, which is unlikely.

I loathe Gerwig and Frances Ha, possibly tied with Tiny Furniture for my most hated film in the CC. I'll join this club too, do I get #3 on my membership card?

In other news, my flash sale order arrived! Most excited to see Sid & Nancy I think.

What are the odds of Criterion releasing Rebecca, Spellbound and Notorious as a box set, assuming they release the latter two? I'm trying to decide if I should pickup Rebecca at the B&N sale next month.

You'll probably get an eleven. The binary language of robots doesn't have threes.

In the future, could you kindly put this in spoiler tags? Some of us don't want heads up on possible releases before they've been officially announced.

Thank you.

I think Criterion would want to release an HD version of Robocop in Verhoeven's preferred aspect ratio.

Not sure if serious. They're just names, it doesn't give any clue as to what movie will be released, if any at all. I'm fine with spoiler tagging the leaks, but spoiler tagging phantom pages seems excessive.

The first of my two flash sale orders arrived today, and while I haven't watched any of the movies yet, I was able to inspect the packaging for the films and was very pleased with the look of everything I ordered.

Barry Lyndon has an appropriately stately look thanks to the subtle gold accents on the otherwise clean and simple cover...though a DigiPack would have been especially eye-catching.

Vampyr is a stunner; the packaging adds texture to the "foggy" design aesthetic, and the thick booklets give the release a substantive appearance that instantly marks it out as one of the the "definitive" editions Criterion is known for.

Wim Wenders: The Road Trilogy is equally handsome, though it has a much lighter touch. The picture of Wenders on the cover has an appropriately loose look that is well suited to the director's style, and contrast between the typewritten and handwritten text on the otherwise pure-white background is a very appealing visual motif that unifies the look of the entire set.

Finally, The Marseille Trilogy is another one of the Criterion editions even more stunning in-hand than it appears online. The beauty of the illustrations is more striking up close, and the brownish-yellow color scheme is much a much richer tone than I took it to be on my computer monitor--earthy and glowingly golden.

Excellent work all around, but on the box sets especially; the smaller, denser format Criterion has favored lately--since about The Apu Trilogy--is especially noteworthy. I always marvel at their ability to make such perfect little design pieces so widely available.

(I think my other order will get here tomorrow. I'll weight in on the packaging of those films as well...but this first order may have spoiled me.)

Say what?!!!!

Getting a heads up on anything that might be being remastered, or is on the way, is what I hope for when I look into these threads. What do rumors of these things spoil for you?
