I asked in the Ministry of Fear thread, but does anyone know which film has a scene that is very similar to, and clearly inspired by, the train scene with the cake in MoF? I remember seeing that scene in the bonus features of a different film, comparing the two scenes, but I can't for the life of me remember anything about that other film or the second scene.

I'd be shocked if DEATH IN VENICE and THE DAMNED weren't part of the Warner deal.

I noticed that Scanners is getting the blu only treatment in March. I also noticed the cover that is listed on bluray.com page. Is that just a stock photo? I only ask bc I HATE digipacks so Im def going to get the new version if it's in a regular CC case.

I love the cover art on the original digi though so I hope they leave it the same like they usually do.

I am willing to bet that it will be the same cover art in a standard Criterion case. That is what they did when they re-released Night of the Hunter and Tess.

If it wasn't for your passion, your film knowledge and your insightful reviews, I may have never experienced blind buying films from Tarkovsky, Ozu and Satyajit Ray.

I'm right there with you on that Christmas wish! The boxed set David Lean Directs Noel Coward is such a wonderful addition to the Criterion canon and each month I cross my fingers hoping for an aptly titled David Lean Directs Dickens. One can dream eh? Oliver Twist and Great Expectations sit proudly on my shelf and an upgrade would be most welcome.
