It's not part of the Criterion Collection but if you want that psychadelic, hallucenogenic quality of Hausu, i highly recommend Watari, Ninja Boy (1966). I also second Goke, Body Snatcher From Hell (1968).

I'm still waiting for that 4K scan of The Last Emperor.

I am beyond excited by this Bergman news. Depending on what Criterion does come out with, I may have to sell a kidney. But that is a small price to pay -- you only need one, after all.

Really wish we'd get an upgrade Sawdust and Tinsel in addition to the Trilogy.

Just an FYI, those aren't that great of deal as those are $30 list titles, not $40. They often can be had for $15 each.

I was lucky enough to get to a screening last night of the new 4K restoration of A Matter of Life and Death. It was glorious - and what a film! No matter how many times I've seen it it always transports me and on the big screen was an incredibly emotional experience. Also, I forgot just how sly and humorous it is

I really hope this gets a decent BD release soon, ideally from Criterion. It was a Sony title in the US wasn't it - could this mean they could do it in the UK as well I wonder? That would be a dream!

Seems Arrow is going with weekly updates that go something like:

Week 1: Restocking announcement
Week 2: New titles announcement
Week 3: Merch announcement
Week 4: New Titles announcement

I'd love for Criterion to:

Week 1: Restocking announcements
Week 2: Upgraded titles announcements
Week 3: Merch/screening announcements
Week 4: New titles announcements

My order says that it will arrive today by 8:00 PM, but it hasn't shipped yet. That will be some trick!

It absolutely will take several years. They haven't finished releasing their Chaplin titles, and the first one was released 2010.

We can barely count on getting one set of announcements more or less around the 15th but good luck with that

How is Night and Fog full-price? It's barely half an hour long...

It's one of the greatest films ever made, I don't care how long it is.

The downside of course is that it is very difficult to watch more than once or twice.

Oh look more releases for one of my favorite directors Clouzot Region B only

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=22677

I hope Criterion is actively trying to wrestle these titles back. Makes no sense why SC would rather make no money at all on titles they own rights to in Region A. Love to give StudioCanal a piece of my mind. /endrant

Sorry just had to vent some frustration.

My Mr. Lincoln was showing delivery for today and now Amazon says it will arrive between January 16-17. I, Daniel Blake is also supposed to be arriving on 1/16.
I've never had them combine shipments on select studios before so I'm assuming this is a delay due to stock.

Not disagreeing with you in the slightest but you have over 1200 Blu-rays ... and don't have a region-free player?

Just watched Summer Hours. Such an incredible film. The ending is absolutely beautiful. I wish more people would see it. Most audiences today, unfortunately, would be bored to tears. Sad. Hopefully Criterion releases more Assayas films. He is one of the best filmmakers working today.

I adore Assayas. But I haven't seen Summer Hours yet for some reason. Need to fix that.

And yes: The more Olivier, the better.

See it immediately. As much as I love Personal Shopper (my favorite movie of last year/year before depending on where/when it was released, Sils Mari, Carlos, and his many others, I really believe Hours is his best. It’s such a brilliant meditation on what happens to ones family, in concerns the things both physical and personal left they behind, immediately following their deaths.
