I just made my way through The Lure. I wasn’t expecting it to be so...musical. The translation made a lot of the song lyrics pretty cringey.

Pretty imaginative, but likely not something I would watch again.

This quote on Criterion Forum made me happy. Very much hope to see Female Trouble or Polyester soon, considering WB now has them OOP on their site. Would also love to see the less likely candidate, Pecker, which I believe to be one of Waters’ forgotten classics.

Either of those (but particularly Female Trouble) would be incredible news. Much more exciting than Multiple Maniacs, IMO.

If the rumors are true, this will be the second film Criterion will re-release on home video (the first one being Monterey Pop).
Considering Criterion's current version is better than the new "restoration," they would do better to not re-release it.

Criterion's version is better. The new restoration has been predictably teal-ed and is dull comparatively.

Hopefully, more of his early underground shorts and features will show up first; maybe include the documentary Divine Trash as an extra. I agree that Pecker should be better known among his later films-very funny.

I'm going to see his one man show "a Date with John Waters" next week and plan on asking him about upcoming releases. I'm especially interested in Female Trouble, Pink Flamingos & Polyester. I highly recommend his live performances, a John Waters Xmas was fantastic.

I went to his 2016 JW Xmas in Boston. Amazing show. Would love to see this new show you’re telling of.

So ... how likely is it that next Tuesday (2/13) is the day of the 24-hour flash sale?

SRP - also they don't ship outside of USA/Canada, so you would need a reshipper (I believe some people here have used shipito for this).

Yeah no that's not a problem, I have someone in the US to ship stuff to. But too bad it's off the SRP It means it's basically only a few dollars off the Amazon price for some titles. Well, since I'll buy them anyway, it's still worth it I guess. I just won't buy everything at once.

Thanks for the answer

Question for those with their ear to the ground.

I know there are rumours of OOP titles be rereleased. Such as Notorious, Spellbound and Chungking Express.

My question is, does anyone have any reason to believe Army of Shadows, Le Cercle Rouge or Pierrot Le Fou may also get a rerelease?

I recently received an ebay gift card and I'm debating picking up some OOP Criterion titles.

Thanks!

No real sign/rumor that the StudioCanal titles will be coming back soon. Lionsgate will continue to sit on those.

FYI: The Target B2G1 sale is going on next week. It will be cheaper to get some titles (and pre-orders) from there instead of waiting for the Flash Sale.
