Yeah, that one. I saw the theatrical cut, I believe.

It's rights are famously tied up because the rightsholder paid for a 3D conversion that no one asked for, and is now asking an exorbitant licensing fees to recoup the money spent on that. Previous releases are out of print. There's some speculation/wishful thinking that Arrow have gotten the rights to it, since the director tweeted vaguely about getting the "biggest titles" of his career a few weeks ago.

MF, it's not an OCD thing with me, but it's my favorite film of all time, so I just get a bit anxious...but I'll try to "manage" that. LOL !!

Anyway, does anyone else have any other titles that are hoping are announced tomorrow ???

I think that for most of us posting on a blu-ray related thread, we are all in agreement that blu-ray trumps all but that doesn't mean we can't stream stuff too. You can't buy everything and watching a film like NOTLD on streaming first is a good way to decide if it's something worth buying, particularly as Criterions can be pricey.

I think we all appreciate your enthusiasm, we all have movies like that. But it's not like your posts are going to be picked up on by Criterion or Warner Archive so they decide to release it, at one point posting the same thing constantly just sort of becomes, at best, white noise, at worst very annoying to your fellow forum members.

As for announcements tomorrow, I want them to announce Bull Durham so that MifuneFan and I can be proven correct about our interpretation of the boulder ham clue.

I bought the following:
The Tree of Wooden Clogs
The Emigrants/The New Land
Night of the Living Dead
One-Eyed Jacks

And got Dekalog with the GC.

All blind buys expect Night of the Living Dead, and they will be the first time I will see those director’s films. I’m excited.

You may very well be correct Ray. Thanks for your opinion.

Though, I still kinda tend to believe in the old adage you get what you pay for.

the 3 I highlighted are each very worthwhile. I've been interested in seeing The Emigrants / The New Land based on what I'm perceiving to be similarities to The Tree of Wooden Clogs.

I don't think you're going to be disappointed w/ your purchase.

Every week I'll search online for any word of a release. There's been zero talk of a release outside of this forum and HTF.

Maybe the upcoming announcement will finally be the one that promises Blu-ray upgrades of Equinox, Fiend Without a Face, and the Monsters and Madmen set.

Hope you're right, I've been holding off on buying Monsters and Madmen for quite a while hoping it will be upgraded.

I hope Criterion will someday remember that it has the rights to the Harold Lloyd library. It's now been more than two years since we've seen a Lloyd title released.

YEA FOR THE KING OF JAZZ! Day one pre-order for me!

Sigh. Well, at least we're getting The Awful Truth.

Equinox is the only one I own but I'd be down for any of those.

Along with my usual, long list of wants, I've been feeming for an upgrade of Bad Timing ever since Isabelle Huppert grabbed it from the closet. It's been a long time since I watched it, but I remember really liking it.

I’m excited to see all the films especially The Emigrants / The New Land and The Tree of Wooden Clogs because my family are immigrants and working class and came from the rural part of Mexico, so I tend to like films like that. An example is The Apu Trilogy. Truly some of my favorite films that I’m rewatching for the second time.
