About ten years ago, I expressed my doubts that things like the Eisenstein Sound Years box set would make it to Blu-Ray. It was one of the reasons why I was resistant to make the jump to high-def.

Here it is ten years and a few thousand Blu-Rays later. I think about 90% of my collection wound up getting upgraded to Blu, including most Criterions. Still no sign of Eisenstein's Ivan the Terrible of Alexander Nevsky. I don't know if I jinxed it or what, but of all the DVDs I have this is probably the one that bugs me the most.

Come on Criterion...the people are still waiting.

Their Laserdisc output should tells everything about how their catalogue would look if the studios weren't directly involved in the home video market.
