If I was asked to select a seven-film Kiarostami boxset, those films would be:

(in chronological order)
Through the Olive Trees
Where is the Friend's Home?
Homework
And Life Goes On...
Taste of Cherry
Ten
Five Dedicated to Ozu

Above all I'd love a release of Winter Light. Unless I'm missing something -- which is entirely possible, me being me and all -- there is no Blu-ray release of this film anywhere in the world at present. I seem to remember that Bergman himself was quite fond of the film. Any Bergman is good Bergman, of course. But this is the one that I would most like to see announced.
If we can't get the Faith Trilogy all at once I'd like Through A Glass Darkly. I love Harriet Andersson, so Sawdust and Tinsel is also high on my list.

Hour of the Wolf is the number one Bergman film that I want to see.

Faith Trilogy all at once: Yes, please.

It does.

I saw the film in the theater with my father when I was about 10 or 11. I remember being very disturbed by it. It's powerful and beautifully filmed. But yes, a Criterion release would be excellent. Of course, we won't get much if anything from Lynch himself.

Mine is The Passion of Anna. The MGM DVD is non-anamorphic (it was Bergman's first widescreen film).

Night of the Living Dead and Silence of the Lambs have such flawless restorations you think they were made last year

I think a big box set similar to Kurosawa's is imminent. I don't think Criterion would bother upgrading a solo release of The Virgin Spring and then sit on it until later in the year. My (extremely hopeful) prediction is: All These Women, The Devil's Eye, Dreams, From the Life of the Marionettes, Hour of the Wolf, A Lesson in Love, The Magic Flute, The Passion of Anna, The Rite, Sawdust and Tinsel, Scenes From a Marriage,Secrets of Women, Shame, The Silence, Through a Glass Darkly, The Touch, The Virgin Spring, and Winter Light.

Something like that...a man can dream.

You think there's a chance of a Criterion Dune? That would be AWESOME!
I wonder if they'd include different cuts of the movie. Not sure if they've ever done that with any of their blu releases.

I can see Dune along with Blue Velvet being Shout Factory releases. Wild at Heart has a Shout release and is owned by the same company as Blue Velvet. Aside from those three, the other Lynches are fair game for Criterion.

Except that Blue Velvet already had a great release with a nice new scan supervised by Lynch and tons of extras, so it's 100% not needed just to be "Criterion." And 100% not happening anyway.

So you'll pay to see something theatrically, but not pay for a "blind buy" (which is what seeing something theatrically is)... yet you can sell a blu-ray if you don't like it but can't get your money back on a movie ticket. Even if you don't get back your full price, it'd still be cheaper than seeing it theatrically. Hence, it's a better deal to buy the blu.

AFAIK, the 4K restoration that was made for its 30th anniversary hasn’t been released outside of theatrical showings, so that could be at least one factor for a new release.

Excellent film.

Both Close Up and Like Someone in Love are great too. Those are the only three I've seen. My adventure into Iranian cinema is in its infant stages. And as for Farhadi, I've sadly only seen one of his films so far, The Past. It's majestic. I need to gobble up as many of these others as I can. A box set would bet fantastic.
