I'm only interested in Shampoo and Sisters. A pretty disappointing month overall. Princess Bride should rake in the money for Criterion. That's a positive at least.

Thank you for the information. I remember when this came out a few years ago but never heard one way or the other about quality. I may go ahead and order it. Well, maybe first I'll get a new region free player. My current one is old and on the fritz.

Can't wait for Shampoo

I wish they could have gotten someone to do a commentary. The bonus features look a bit anemic.

Will pick up Sisters during the NOV 50% off sale. I already own the Arrow UK release. I expect the CC will look different.

I'm always drinking the criterion kool aid for general month slates but I'm really disappointed that they didn't release any new horror for October...

Criterion has sooo many titles they haven’t re-released yet. They really need to increase their back-catalog releases or we’ll all be dead before they can get through them.

I'm all over The Naked Prey and Sisters for day one, perhaps.

The Princess Bride will be acquired during the sale the following month, as will the Bergman set, in all likelihood.

I own the existing Blu-ray of The Princess Bride. I've always enjoyed the movie, even if I've never been 100% fully on board with it like a lot of other people are. It's one of those “crowd pleaser” movies that I keep in a chest in my living room for the rare occasions when people come to visit my introvert self. My crowd-pleaser living room chest also features the James Bond movies, the Rocky movies, the Avengers movies, and such.

Only one horror title and it’s from a director I really don’t care for.

Really excited to finally be able to pick up The Naked Prey. I also solemnly swear this will be the final time I buy The Princess Bride.

You should buy the Ingmar Bergman set for Hour of the Wolf.

Some great releases. Shampoo is a long-awaited must-have for me. I've had the MGM release of Princess Bride for a while and haven't even gotten around to watching it so I'll probably stick with that, and my Arrow copy of Sisters is region free so I'll probably just stick with that too.

The Princess Bride was a strange choice for October. I wish they had gone with a film not on Blu-ray already.

Another month without any Japanese films.

Once upon a time those were the best sellers for Criterion and I'm not sure what's going on here.

There are a ton of Kurosawa, Kobeyashi, and other fine directors that need their films upgraded to blu.

Seriously, still no Human Condition trilogy?

Plus they have a TON of Japanese films that have never seen the light of day on either DVD or blu-ray. I'm still shocked they didn't release the Japanese Silence when Scorsese's came out.

Argh!

Oh, and one more thing...

The Naked Prey is basically a horror movie in its own right. Trust me on this.
