Seriously, still no Human Condition trilogy?

Plus they have a TON of Japanese films that have never seen the light of day on either DVD or blu-ray. I'm still shocked they didn't release the Japanese Silence when Scorsese's came out.

Argh!
A lot us are hoping that we're going to get a big box set of Toho Godzilla films soon.

While Criterion does somewhat throw something “seasonal” in for October, they are still not a horror label. And on that matter, they are not opposed to releasing a horror movie in a month OTHER than October.

I’m downright banking on it.

I’ll be getting that set eventually since I have none of Criterion’s Bergman releases.

I understand that. It’s still a disappointment considering how eclectic their October slates can be, especially last year’s.

I wish they could have gotten someone to do a commentary. The bonus features look a bit anemic.
Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't come up with more. But I do like the cover.

I will get all of these except for The Princess Bride.

I already have the MGM blu ray and my grand-daughter watches it, sometimes.

The other four are of great interest to me: I've wanted upgrades of "Naked Prey" and "Sisters" from Criterion for a long time, and the Fassbinder and Shampoo are great additions to the Collection, as well. The Fassbinder is the only blind-buy for me.

And Criterion never really has gone all out with horror for October, not often, anyway, so I don't know what people were expecting...

The Princess Bride is in a clothbound book. Is that a first for Criterion?

Excited to get "Shampoo". "The Naked Prey" and "Sisters" are great, but probably won't double dip from the Arrow and Eureka releases.

Wow, the extras for Shampoo... leave a lot to be desired. One new interview? That’s unfortunate. And very surprising.

Don't worry I did also... but I will hang onto the ARROW and wait for reviews of the Criterion. I'm expecting color differences.

Beatty and Hawn never do extras it seems, at least that I've seen. Neither seem interested in talking about their films. Hal Ashby is dead, so that's out. Julie Christie has done some interviews about her films though, so it's disappointing they couldn't get her to sit down for an interview.

Nice to finally get Sisters in HD, one of the earliest CC DVDs I bought. Good October release imo.

I don't get the Princess Bride release though; surely everyone who wants it has bought one of the umpteen releases already.

Not sure about Shampoo...I love Black Shampoo but that might not be the same tone.

Light month for me.

Might pick up The Princess Bride and I'll wait for the Sisters Arrow vs Criterion comparisons.
