I'm not all that hyped about a possible Godzilla release but if he's in there I hope he's trampling a really big clock.

Same. I spent the whole thing muttering 'what the hell am I watching' but very much in the Good Way.

Whatever one thinks of A Ghost Story, it's unique. That's for sure.

As to 2019 Wish List, I need to go walk to the store -- it's that, or begin the starvation diet -- I'll think about it then.

Although, two or three months ago I did make it 6 days without eating. It's funny, after a couple of days you really don't have an appetite anymore. Weird. Anyway, long story. Heh.

If Lost Highway does indeed get released, it better not be the same "restoration" Studio Canal just put out, which wasn't a restoration at all. Still needs a completely new scan.

I went to the Landmark theater at 57th and 12th avenue. It's fairly far from the nearest subway. I took the Q train to 57th street (right by Carnegie Hall) at 7th avenue, and just walked straight up to 12th. It's about a 15-20 min walk.

It was my first time going to that theater, but it's pretty nice. They have reserved seating (through atom tickets at least), very nice recliner seats, and laser projection. The only downside is that they don't mask their screens, so the movie was letterboxed, but I actually didn't mind at all. It even gave it a more cinematic look in my opinion. The movie looked incredible on the laser projection. And the sound system was also great too.

I heard the one at the IFC center fills up nearly every showtime, and I didn't want to deal with that, and the lack of reserved seating. So I opted to go to Landmark. Tickets are like $18.50, but I got a discount code to use at atomtickets.com which saved a little (use the code BUZZ50 to get half off for new accounts).

The theater also looks pretty cool from the outside too. My showtime was at 11:15 am, and I got there at 10:55, and they were still closed. They don't open till 11 apparently, which is kind of crazy when they start movies less than 20 mins later. But it allowed me to cross the street to snap this pic, which I probably wouldn't have done anyway, so that worked out

Thanks. I’ve passed it on to him. I guess he struck out at the IFC. I moved out of the city 50 years ago. Can’t believe they’ve built this beautiful theater that far west on 57th. “Back in the day” you needed a bodyguard to head out into that neighborhood. No Roma in Wisconsin yet. Sounds like a real corker.
