This is correct. Chapter 18 was removed prior to the original publication at the suggestion of Joan Lindsay's editor, and only released years later as a standalone book after Lindsay's death. The film version does not include the story of that "missing" chapter either, and I agree the story works much better with the mystery left unresolved.

There is speculation that they've struck a new deal with the rights-holder, StudioCanal, and Peeping Tom may be one of the titles licensed in that deal. But no titles from that deal have been announced yet, so even that is hypothetical at this point.

KL also picked up some SC titles. There was discussion in that thread about it earlier in the year. I don't believe there has been more info on Peeping Tom since the below post, but there seems to be a possibility it could get a KL release:

I already asked them if they had anymore Powell and Pressburger titles but they said that the "other label" had 1 P&P and 1 Powell title (assuming to be Tales of Hoffmann and Peeping Tom).

Thanks. Good to know. I have the Region B of both, but Criterion upgrades would be great.

Also, 'Army of Shadows' seems to be the only OOP Melville title on the Criterion Channel...

A 15 disc Godzilla boxset? Is this for real? Even the possibility of that seems to be to good to be true.....

Is anyone else a little disappointed with the new channel? Maybe I’m alone but I thought they’d have nearly every released title under criterion...

Watched Jeanne Dielman tonight.

I don't get it.

It's literally nothing happening for three hours and fifteen minutes, followed by something happening for no adequately explained reason for two seconds, then even less things happening for another five minutes than were happening in the first three hours.

I recall someone saying it was "tense", because you just knew something was going to happen, and...no? Were we watching the same film? I was having trouble staying awake...

1954 Godzilla? 100%. Why wouldn’t it be? Criterion has previously released the film and they’ve repackaged films before (Seventh Seal on Bergman set, Easy Rider and Five easy pieces released outside of Lost and Found)
