Last time someone mentioned an upgrade of The Unbearable Lightness of Being, (I believe it was The Sovereign) I would like to see that as well.

Also, The Seventh Continent would be great.

And Criterion, would you please release Baby Face (1933)?

I would have thought that Pink Flamingos would be the next logical John Waters film ... but if it's going to be Polyester, I hope they plan to include the scratch and sniff card!

POLYESTER is the (probably) the next Waters film through Criterion, but he said that Warner Archives is working on the FLAMINGOS disc.

You'd have thought it would be an obvious re-acquisition when they were able to start licensing titles from WB.

What's people's predictions for spine#1000? I'm hoping for "It's A Wonderful Life." Should get revealed in November releases.

Like I said, the best idea for the 1000th title would be the title that started it all with Criterion; Citizen Kane.

Either way, it should no doubt be one of the greatest movies of all time.

Also, as always, hoping for The Truman Show to be announced today.

Actually, the best candidate for spine #1000 would be Fritz Lang's The 1,000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse...and it needs a blu upgrade.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Amadeus and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest are licensed by WB through the Saul Zaentz Company estate I believe. Criterion would license from them.

I think #1000 will be a complete Kurosawa box set.

If Bergman boxset didn't have a spine number, then i doubt a Kurosawa one will.

I think 1000 will be Grand Budapest Hotel.
300 was Life Aquatic, 700 was Fantastic Mr Fox

If it's not that then I don't think it will be anything significant. They don't seem to place any significance other than 900 was a giant box set of Olympic docs.

It would also be cool if they released 1000 Grand Budapest Hotel along with 001 Grand Illusion the same month.
