Not true, I use the member and emailed coups all the time, and they ring up fine without an override. They are only excluded during the 50% off sale. I’ll regularly get a new release stickered for 30% off, and stack a 15 or 20% off on top, plus membership 10%.

Just blind bought a copy of Blast Of Silence. Sounds like a very unique film, and I'd been eyeing it for a while. The price on Amazon.ca was low enough this morning that I decided to take the plunge. Of course, now that I've done so, they will probably release it on Blu-ray soon!

I’m looking to boost my Criterion collection. I have 28, haven’t watched all of them but I’m looking for some more to add.

I’d prefer thriller, horror, comedy or drama and maybe something weird, cult? Surrealistic?

So does anyone think spine 1000 will get its own announcement soon and separate from the 15th announcement like they did with the Olympics set?

If it is a box set (hopefully Godzilla!) I could see it being announced over the next few days. If it's a single film, probably will still be with the 15th announcement.

I'd like to answer my own question several pages back, The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez was pretty terrific. Solid cast with some nice action and scenery.

I wish we had spent more time with Olmos' character, but we get to know and empathize with him due to small, quiet moments like his nearly unspoken gratitude to a cowboy who gives him food, or cooing his horse while hiding in a thicket after a chase.

Really surprised I don't see this one talked about more, especially given the desultory state of the western cycle post-60s. Haven't seen Heaven's Gate yet, but it sits splendidly beside The Long Riders as well-done early 80s genre contributions.

I decided to order the Bergman set. Got it on Amazon, which is price matching B&N, at least with that one. I've not seen many of these films, so I hope I like them. Maybe I'll try to sell my Criterion Blu-Ray's of Summer Interlude and Summer with Monika. No need to hold on to those now.
