I became a fan when Rushmore was released and then lost interest about Life aquatic time. Seemed like he was more interested in building a brand than anything else and it all became too much for me. I’m sure people will come at me, but whatever

Sounds amazing! It’s due for a 20th anniversary remaster/release. I’ve got to imagine it’s coming soon

Prime Day has completely disrupted my planned Criterion purchases. My new order is:

Notorious
My Man Godfrey
A Face in the Crowd
Rififi
Dr. Strangelove
The Heiress

Only ones I'm planning on buying at B&N are Do the Right Thing and War & Peace.

There are also many other films that are on sale at Amazon. Search Criterion Collection and they'll appear. Some that I remember are Forty Guns, The Magnificent Ambersons, Panique, Lady Snowblood, Police Story, Blue Velvet, In the Heat of the Night, Kwaidan, Harakiri and Seven Samurai.

I just ordered the Bergman set a few days ago, but it hasn't shipped. I emailed Amazon and requested a price adjustment, but received a standard response as to fluctuating prices. That would make sense except for the fact that they're out of stock and mine has not shipped and shipment is not expected for weeks. So I called. The bottom line is that they gave me not only the additional 20% of, but gave me an extra $10 off for the hassle. Sweet!

For almost the past year now, calling has really been the only option. I used to be able to email my issues and get resolution very fast, but the few issues I've had in the past year have required a phone call to get any traction. Even when it came to a defective disc that they wouldn't refund me for, because their policy is for replacement only, but the movie had gone OOP.

Why'd you have to remind me of this? Didn't even realize some Eclipse were part of the deal, now I'm itching to get that Early Fassbinder set...damn it.

I recommend getting Arrow's bluray of The Merchant of Four Seasons it comes with Beware of a Holy *****. Both films have flawless technical presentations off 4K scans. The dvd of Holy ***** (what an awkward title) on the Criterion Eclipse dvd is wretched. The other films in the set aren't worth your time.

I think he's hit or miss. I LOVE Rushmore, Grand Budapest, Mr. Fox, and Royal Tenenbaums, but I could do without any of the others. I completely understand & respect why people think he's too twee for his own good.

It would make me pretty happy to see spine 1000 be a UHD, no matter what the film is.

Imagine there's a delay and we don't even get announcements today...and then when we do, they do indeed skip #1000! haha.

Probably already mentioned, but Janus tweeted out a poster for "PRIME CUT" several hours ago in honor of Prime Day. Probably nothing, but figured I'd share.

Also not very much chatter on here. Everyone is occupied with online sales I suppose.
