It’s not unprofessional. I’m sure there is a reason. The 15th isn’t an official release announcement day. We are all excited but come on be patient. October is 3 months away anyways...

Some of the people being nasty on Criterion’s twitter is the equivalent of being unprofessional

If they don'y announce anything let say in 5 days or so I think we deserve to know, as a community that buys their product, what's going on.

Changed my opinion on the matter. I'm not going to reedit the post as I don't care enough to do so.

It's still early. I understand. But if they don't announce anything in the next few days it would be wise to address it from a business point of view. Keeping your customers out of the loop on what's going on is not a good business strategy.

Dude it's cool they're not going to actually stop announcing anything. It's ok.

They have a monthly announcement and it'll drop when it drops.

Really?! Wow. Time sure flies. Saw it in September 1999 since it was released then in the UK. It was rated 18 with no cuts or alterations, my then girlfriend and I were 14 at the time and we bought tickets for another film but sneaked into the screening room of this one. Couldn't get this film out of our heads for months after that.

Häxan’s Page updated with an HD clip and new images. Maybe that signals an upgrade announcement today.

Would make for one killer October release so I do hope it's announced eventually. I've wanted an upgrade for this one for a long time.

It's not contractual for them to announce their titles 3 months in advance on a specific date each month. It's a tradition more than anything, and if they announce those on the 25th instead of the 15th, that'll still be roughly a 3-months visibility not a lot of video releases possess.
But I guess old habits die hard and shrink some people's comfort zone A LOT.

I don't disagree with you as a whole. Criterion could (and probably should) be more relaxed and casual with this, and drop a tweet about them being late by a few days, it's unusual, but that's life, and be done with it. But they setup another pattern which is : they don't communicate this way.
So if you want to talk about patterns, that's one you should also consider.
