Is it possible Criterion is moving their announcement schedule to maybe the end of the month?

They had stated yesterday that titles would be announced today.

And by "tomorrow", they likely meant sometime today between 2pm-5pm EDT, not first thing in the morning.

Actually it's been kind of funny the past two days watching people freak out that they didn't get an announcement, for everybody rooting for the big ass Godzilla box think about it this way Touhou is that Comic-Con neither one of them are going to steal each other's Thunder so whatever time the Toho event is should be about the same time that Criterion announces there's if Godzilla is part of it. And as far as I can remember I don't think tell hose ever been to a Comic Con event so something must be happening!

Anyone know what the hold up (which studio owns) the rest of the P.T. Anderson films? I'd love to see Magnolia or There Will Be Blood as a Criterion.

Every announcement I think "Meh. Well, on the bright side I guess I can save some money."

Yet without fail, the B&N sale rolls around and I find myself with a ten deep list and still spending way more than I ever expected to.

I would love more PTA in the collection. Especially Hard Eight, seeing as it doesn't have a bluray release yet. I'd love a 4K sourced Magnolia or even a UHD release...

Saw a Japanese animated movie called Mirai (2018). It's from Mamoru Hosoda, who's done The Girl Who Lept Through Time, Wolf Children Summer Wars among others. It was a very good film. It sort of takes a standard familial issue of sibling rivalry (a boy jealous of the attention his newborn sister is garnering), and addresses it in a completely unique and fascinating way. It's available on BD already, Alamo Drafthouse just brought it back this week as part of their "Kids Camp" series where you can see it for your choice of $1, $3, or $5, which all goes to charity.

Quote:
A young boy named Kun feels forgotten by his family when his little sister Mirai arrives. Running away from home, Kun stumbles upon a magical garden that serves as a time-travelling gateway where he encounters his mother as a little girl and has a series of adventures with his baby sister, who is all grown up, opening a new perspective on his world.
