It could probably be an Arrow Acacemy UK, Indicator, or Eureka release.

The last two nights I spent watching the first two Rambo movies and tonight i’m watching part 3, where Rambo personally defeats the Soviet Union and ends the war in Afghanistan.

I am not an animal.

...I am a patriot.

It could also be Criterion UK. Have they ever released a title in the UK that wasn’t released in the US first?

No, they haven’t and I don’t see them ever doing that.

Why not? They could release it in the UK, then release it in the US when Twilight Time’s three-year window closes.

Assuming another label then doesn't beat them to the punch when the window closes.

Model Shop is a Columbia title, so 99% it's going to be Indicator

What are you all guessing for tomorrow? Titles? A UHD announcement?

One of the most prominent US home video labels isn't going to release a UK-only title while the US would have to wait until, at least, 2021 to even see that release. I just don't ever see it happening. Not to mention, the Criterion UK branch is practically non-existent (if their research for the cut history of "War and Peace" in the UK is any indication).

If any of these are announced for November, I'll be happy:

The Last Picture Show (standalone)
Roma
Wildlife
After Hours
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Non-Fiction

Model Shop could be a case of Sony taking a title back from TT and releasing their own version. Maybe a batch of titles that influenced/tie in to Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood.

More than likely, it's a UK release from Indicator, or perhaps even Eureka.

That's probably the case. Just because Douglas "liked" a tweet of someone asking if it was Criterion (the user most likely wasn't aware of the TT release) that doesn't mean it is Criterion.

Except TT typically owns a 3-year rights window from the time it's released, which would be through 2021.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ozu's Floating Weeds (Ukigusa) (1959) today at The Metrograph here in NYC, part of a series the theater is doing on the late great actress Machiko Kyō. It's my 2nd favorite movie of all time, so it was a really special experience for me to finally see it on the big screen, and in a really cool theater as well (my first time visiting it). Thankfully, it was sourced from the recent 4K restoration, and was it ever beautiful. The transfer is truly a revelation compared to the DVD, and even the BD released in the UK. Colors aren't as heavily saturated as Criterion's DVD, but more balanced, and natural. The level of detail was just incredible. This is definitely one of the best restorations I've seen.

The subtitle translation was noticeably improved too. There's a part early on where one of the actor's goes to a local bar, and when a lady asks his name he jokingly says he's the famous Kabuki actor "Kinnosuke". But on the Criterion DVD, the translation was changed to say he's Toshiro Mifune, something clearly done for the sake of Western audiences. There's a lot of little changes like that throughout, which really made the dialogue work better in this new presentation than on the DVD.

I consider Floating Weeds to be one of the most exquisitely framed, and shot films all time. There's no shortage of beautiful compositions that feel like artwork in motion to me. The film is an ideal Summertime watch, which made it all the more disappointing when Criterion didn't announce it before the season's end. Regardless of when it comes out, it'll still be a pure joy to watch, so hopefully that's sooner than later. I'd also like to put my vote in for this being Criterion's first UHD candidate.
I agree: great film & great commentary. Just curious, if this is your second favorite all time film, what’s #1?

Chushingura (1962), a film about the classic 47 ronin story, and directed by Hiroshi Inagaki (Samurai Trilogy). It's beautifully filmed, and just has everything I could ask for in a samurai film. The film has sadly been overlooked despite the great director, and even strong cast (Mifune, and Takeshi Shimura are in it). It also has a beautiful score from Akira Ifukube. The DVD (now OOP) for it was rather poor, and I have no idea who has the rights to it now, but I hope one day it can get more recognition again.

Here's a trailer for it, but the video quality is not very good, and it's been Americanized with English narration

Most likely yeah, but just putting out another slight possibility.
