Rialto did the theatrical distribution of When You Read This Letter, and I'm not sure if Cohen has distributed any Rialto titles on Blu.

Criterion definitely has Magnet of Doom, it is a Janus Films title, so I'd expect that to get released eventually.

Does anyone know if Martin Scorsese’s “A Personal Journey Through American Movies” or “My Voyage to Italy” is streaming on any platform, such as Netflix or Hulu? I’d really love to watch both.

I went to B&N yesterday and walked away with a smaller haul than I usually go for in these sales, but I'm quite excited with what I got:

Only seen Bigger than Life, which is excellent. Love Soderbergh and Sayles so eager to check out my blind buys, too.

Watched Kuroneko last night, second time viewing.

This film is so freaking good. It has some remarkable shots in it, considering it was made in 1960. The atmosphere is chilling.

For my money, this is easily one of the top five Japanese films in the Collection.

...I love it.

Not that I'm aware, I recently bought "A Personal Journey" on bootleg Korean DVD.

I’ve been trying to watch them and couldn’t find them streaming, so I’ve been looking to import. Voyage to Italy has a pretty cheap R2 DVD release

Never seen A Personal Journey Through American Films, but would love to get a hold of it. I own the OOP My Voyage To Italy, and it is definitely a great watch. I also highly recommend Mark Cousin's The Story of Film: An Odyssey.

They have Un Flic coming soon, too.

The most I'd expect would be Criterion bringing Army of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge back into print, upgrade Les Enfants Terribles, and maybe getting When You Read This Letter from Gaumont (it'll be either them or Cohen most likely).

(Worth noting that Le Silence De Le Mer and Le Samourai are in print on Blu-ray from Criterion, plus Cohen has Two Men from Manhattan)
Thank you both very much for your replies. I picked up Un Flic from Kino when it came out this month. I loved it which has me looking to pick up more Melville now. Unfortunately, I missed the boat on picking up the other Melville's Kino has at their recent Noirvember sale. I'm really kicking myself over it now. I did pick up Criterion's Le Silence De Le Mer and I also have Le Samourai. I may just buy the Melville Kinos at full price now as I have a feeling they won't go on sale again any time soon.

I'd also hope for Le Deuxieme Souffle.

Today I got Woman of the Year, Complete Lady Snowblood and Now Voyager. I had to pick them up at the store. Several items are currently out of stock online.

The Melville Kino's will probably go on sale during one of their sales next year, but I can safely recommend them even at full price.

The French Gaumont version of When You Read This Letter does include English subtitles and is region free I believe so there is that for those who don't feel like waiting for Criterion.

It’s not the best Lubitsch I have seen but Design for Living is yet another effortlessly charming little pre-code rom com with the three leads having wonderful chemistry throughout. It’s also visually quite sophisticated for the genre with some great lighting and Art Deco set design. It’s overall not as breezy as the best screwballs but there’s still a lot of wit and a fair bit of heart here.

Criterion’s transfer is fine but a little underwhelming. There is obviously only a very weak source left and so the softness is understandable but it also has a fair bit of instability in the image. Still it’s a perfectly fine way to see this lovely little film and does justice to the look of the film by highlighting the lighting and set design I mention above.

Exactly the same for me.

I bought the OOP My Voyage to Italy DVD back in 2016, after patiently waiting to find a copy at a reasonable price. I paid about $28 (when most copies were running much higher at that time), and it was absolutely worth it. I think it is a brilliant documentary, and essential for any fan of Italian cinema.
