We couldn't do what we do without the support of dedicated film fans like you. As a small token of our appreciation, here's a code for $10 off your next order from criterion.com. Whether you choose a new release like Roma, a timeless classic like The Lady Vanishes, or a Criterion t-shirt to jumpstart your spring wardrobe, we hope you enjoy it.

We know firsthand how comforting a movie night at home can be, so given the current precarious situation, we've lowered everyday store prices for all in-stock and upcoming releases to 30% off SRP through the end of April.

Happy movie watching! "

Oxhide 1 & 2 from China are great. Oxhide 2 is a family hanging out in their home making dumplings in real time and it’s riveting

Odd, I didn’t get one of the certificates. Maybe they’re doing them in batches.

I wonder what qualifies for one, in their viewpoint. If I don’t get one, it’s not going to bother me, but the gesture is nice.

It's based on your movie selections. Those of us with an excellent taste in movies, and who made fantastic viewing choices, received ours when they were first issued. The rest of you are receiving yours now.

It could be staggered to avoid unnecessary traffic?

BullMoose shipped my copy of Leave Her to Heaven out. Was so happy when Criterion brought it back into print even if its lacking on the extras, but let's face I watch them once and that's it. USPS Tracking assumes a Monday date for me or at the latest Tuesday.

I just got the $10 code. Im guessing like someone said they must be just releasing them in batches to spread out orders—flatten the order curve if you will

I was a charter subscriber and got that code too, so this is probably for people who are just registered with the site/have ordered before. Very nice of them!

You can't use two codes on one order, right? I'd doubt it anyway

We are in lock-down mode - no unnecessary travel. So my oldest son and I decided we should watch some Criterion movies today. We chose The Samurai Trilogy. We've watched the first two thus far. We'll watch the third later tonight. I've seen them before, but this is my son's first time.

What are the rest of you who are trapped at home watching?

Received the $10 off! Used it to pre-order Six Moral Tales.

Was going to buy it during the next flash sale at 50% but 40% off + receiving it couple months early didn't seem too shabby.

I just watched Paris Is Burning, and it was absolutely wonderful! It's a stunning document of how important it is to be yourself, and not letting anyone stand in your way.

Have you tried watching Fox News? All joking aside, The Vanishing is a true gem in the Criterion Collection.

Oooo, per BarnDoor in the Kino thread. . .

"On the KLSC Facebook page the rep said that all the other Fields titles are with Criterion, which is interesting. Presumably a big box set is on the cards."

Hey man, I stand behind my owning The A Team! Sometimes, after two hours of Ozu, David Lynch or Welles, you want to unplug your brain, and watch four guys blow shit up.

I totally agree. I often want to just relax. I want to watch a movie that doesn't require me to think. BTW, I own the A-Team, too.

Here's the titles that would be in such a box, which would basically mirror Universal's own 18-film 5-disc DVD set (minus the two "bit part" titles Kino has):

Million Dollar Legs (1932, Edward Cline)
International House (1933, A. Edward Sutherland)
Tillie and Gus (1933, Francis Martin)
Six of a Kind (1934, Leo McCarey)
You're Telling Me! (1934, Erle C. Kenton)
The Old Fashioned Way (1934, William Beaudine)
Mr. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch (1934, Norman Taurog)
It's a Gift (1934, Norman Z. McLeod)
Mississippi (1935, A. Edward Sutherland)
Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935, Clyde Bruckman/W.C. Fields)
Poppy (1936, A. Edward Sutherland)
The Big Broadcast of 1938 (1938, Mitchell Leisen)
You Can't Cheat An Honest Man (1938, George Marshall)
My Little Chickadee (1940, Edward Cline)
The Bank Dick (1940, Edward Cline)
Never Give a Sucker An Even Break (1941, Edward Cline)

I actually have only seen the ten films Universal released on DVD initially across two box sets, so a lot of these will be new. The box would be worth it at least for International House, You're Telling Me!, Man on the Flying Trapeze, It's a Gift, The Bank Dick, and Never Give a Sucker an Even Break. Even with 16 films, half of them are only around an hour long, so it would be easy to fit everything across 6-7 discs.

There's also the MGM film David Copperfield, but it's with Warner Bros. - though, I can see it either as a licensed separate title or through Warner Archive. The DVD released by Warner ages ago had a really beautiful transfer for the time (the original negative apparently survived).
