I'm in for GIRLFRIENDS, and I'll blind-buy THE IRISHMAN.

First some songs from Kendrick Lamar leak and now Criterion announcing The Irishman and Ghost Dog, this day cannot get any better.

They don't charge until they ship. Typically, I pre-order when it first goes up. Then, months later, they usually charge me the Thursday before the release date. It ships Thursday or Friday, and I usually get it the Monday before release date or at least on the release Tuesday.

I somehow still don't own it, but I really enjoyed Moonstruck! I'll definitely be getting that.

Definitely in for The Irishman. It feels like one of those movies I need to give more than a year of space to, so I don't know that I'll watch it immediately. It kinda permanently emblazoned itself on my brain in the way that Saving Private Ryan and Apocalypse Now and Ran did, so I'll need to prepare myself for the post-comedown-existential crisis.

Wow, Ghost Dog used to be one of my biggest blu-ray wants but it's been so long it fell off my radar. I haven't watched the DVD in years but nice to see this announcement, hopefully it still holds up.

Excited for the Ghost Dog announcement.

Except for the cover art.

That’s bland as hell.

...shockingly dull.

What a month, Criterion!

I called it... the other day I said, I'm thinking there will be a Martin Scorsese release in the November announcements.

I'm glad it is The Irishman.

So not only is one of my favorite directors included in the announcements but another favorite of mine, Jim Jarmusch, has Ghost Dog coming to Criterion blu-ray.

Incredible!

Quite simply one of the best months in the last few years.

Moonstruck is quite a release too. It's most likely Cher's most notable film.

I have to add that Girlfriends looks like a blind buy for me.

And to round it off, a Fellini box set with 14 of his greatest films? Just wow.

It's a resounding "wow" for November, ladies and gentlemen.

So in for Ghost Dog and Girlfriends. Passing on Irishman (for now - wanna start a Scorsese collection next year) and I'm going to debate whether I want Moonstruck.

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai for the win!

I'm also going all in for the Fellini set and for Girlfriends.

I loved The Irishman when I saw it at a local theater last year, but the chance that I will sit through it again any time soon is roughly zero percent. I'll probably grab the Criterion, but I'm not in a big hurry just yet. This might be one of those “one and done” movies that I love dearly, but am not compelled to revisit.

FWIW, I watched it again last year and felt it hadn’t lost a thing. It’s still my favorite role of Whitaker’s rich career.

Rented this last night on Amazon. The transfer there was pretty old and had a edge line on the left side the entire time. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it and will be picking this up for the new transfer and interviews. Glad to see they got Christopher Guest and Bob Balaban for interviews, I wonder if this is where they met.

All three of my Six Moral Tales blu-rays have noticeable blemishing on the data side, even though playback is unaffected. Is it worth contacting Criterion if it's merely a cosmetic issue? Replacements, assuming Criterion would be willing, would be a hassle since I live overseas.

There's a wonderful artist named StudioStella on Instagram that did cover arts for Girlfriends, Irishman, and Ghost Dog some time ago and the covers look great! Kinda disappointed that Criterion didn't use the art that he/she did for Ghost Dog (It looks fantastic!)

That Irishman cover that Criterion chosen is really interesting choice though (A cover without De Niro but just two rings from two guy's arms) Excited for Irishman!

Is their Irishman poster official? It’s the poster for the film’s Letterboxd page.
