Obviously, I understand that it's a legal move and somehow part of 'baseball strategy', but it's still a cowardly pansy move. I did not know having an opinion on it is now considered 'whining'.

You'd probably throw the ball behind you.

There's a good chance Strasburg could have gotten more if he'd hit free agency after the season. There is absolutely nobody in the upcoming free agent class for pitching. The best pitchers now are Andrew Cashner, Ivan Nova, Edison Volquez, C.J. Wilson, Jered Weaver, R.A. Dickey, and Brett Anderson (who is hurt). If he continues having a good season and stays healthy and multiple teams were bidding on the open market there's a good chance he could have topped that contract.

Probably more upset about a slide which could have ended one of their young players careers...not the way to retaliate a HBP. Odor didn't throw that pitch.

No, but he did try to throw the relay throw right into Bautista's face. That slide didn't cause the bad throw.

What lmao??? If he was tryna hit Batista in the face on that play I'm sure he would have. He was 10 inches away from him and he jumped right over him to throw to first. Batista came in hard that's why his throw was off. There's no way a major league ball player like Odor would risk losing the play at first the peg a dude in the face. That's just plain stupid thinking on your part

It would be a real surprise if Odor gets that many games. The current discipline czar for MLB has never suspended a player for more than 8 games for fighting, and that was when Carlos Quintin tackled Zack Grienke and broke his collarbone, causing Grienke to miss more than a month. Maybe Odor will get 10 games because of all the publicity the punch got, but I could see it being lessened on appeal.

I was thinking 10 appealed down to 5-7 for Odor seemed more realistic.

I'm more interested in seeing what the rest of the suspensions are.

Have to figure the Manager coming back after already being kicked is worth a game.

No idea if Bautista gets one for violating the Utley rule. No idea really what all the other ejections were about, nobody seems to want to show that part of the brawl.

You must be kidding right?

Compare these two slides:

1) Odor, spikes extending out forwards AFTER the bag and nowhere near the plate, deliberate attempt to injure: (watch 50s mark to 1m05s mark)

2) Bautista, spikes down and leg retracting while crossing directly over the plate, forward foot going directly through the middle of Odor's legs with no intent whatsoever to injure: (watch first 5 seconds)

Even someone who has never seen a game in their life can see the glaring differences here.

Not defending Odor since I really don't care either way, but wasn't his slide last year legal whereas Bautista's was illegal under the new rules?
