Exactly where is the Cubs? Playing in a very weak division this year?

I'd prefer to see the Indians win, but I think the Cubs are the better team.

the Cubs used to have all of their games on WGN which was (still is, I think) a superstation like TBS in Atlanta. their fan base might not be as large as the Yankees, but they are (and have always been) in the top 3 to 5.

WGN is not a normal cable station in most areas, it an antenna channel for me.

I don't know what you mean about it being an "antenna channel," but my point was that 162 games a year were available for fans outside of Chicago to watch the Cubs for years. and they have developed a very large fan base because of it.

lol, I wasn't going there. All I had said was that I felt that Cleveland's pitchers were better. In which you obviously don't agree with by insinuating that Chicago's was better ("your team vs yours").

On the whole, I wouldn't say either team is better than the other. They each of areas where they excel at, but statistically, they are pretty close.

So back to square one - I don't see how the Cubs are clearly favored

well, for your Lindor, the Cubs have a league MVP w/ Bryant
for your Cy Young award winner, the Cubs have the winner from last year and 2 guys who will be first, second, or third this year
for your All-Star infielder, the Cubs had their whole infield there (Zobrist was playing second for the better part of this year)
relief studs are a wash
managers are a wash

so hitting is clearly better for the Cubs
starting pitching is clearly better for the Cubs (based on who you guys have healthy)
defense for the Cubs is all world, although I understand that you guys are pretty good, too

the only thing that Cleveland does better on paper (and "on paper" is the key for all these comparisons) is base running.

and Cleveland can relish the underdog role all they/you want. if you go to bleacher report and espn, there ae plenty of people who are picking the Indians.

it is just that it shouldn't be a surprise when looked at statistically, objectively whatever.. that the Cubs are the better team and should be favored.

Weather is not looking good for today's game. It's already started raining in Cleveland and while it's supposed to clear up for a while at the scheduled start time it's supposed to start raining again between 8:00-9:00. Tomorrow is a scheduled day off but there's rain in the forecast so there's no a high likelihood they couldn't get the game in tomorrow either.

cubs are not underdogs, they are a big market team that spends a lot of money. The cubs story is not one of the little teams that could.

The Cubs have had the longer dry spell due to the billy goat.

It's fine. The team played all year without him and he will still be able to pinch hit. The good thing is if the series goes back to Cleveland he will be back in full time.
