They were down 0-2 to the Tribe as well so maybe they enjoy being here.

Yanks are squandering some greeat pitching due to their non-existent hitting. When you hold a team like the Astros to 2 runs, and in 2 games no less, that is a huge opportunity. I would seriously consider benching Judge in Gm. 3, and put in Ellsbury or someone else. Judge is just all messed up, and he is beyond forcing the issue right now. Perhaps even place him in the DH spot instead.

The Yanks are not a good road team. That's what this really boils down to. They're far better at home and the main reason why they were able to win game 5 on the road in Cleveland is because they were able to get the Indians to press in game 5 after squandering two chances to eliminate them in NY. The Yanks will have to do the same to the Astros in NY if they want to win this series. With the Astros offense and top 2 starters pitching effectively against them unlike Kluber, this is going to be a far bigger challenge for the Yanks in the LCS.

Funny, same Cubs relievers as last year, when they got outs. Seems they forgot how to pitch to basically the SAME hitters this year?? Gonna be a short series, if they cannot get outs after the 6th inning... I like the Lackey mop-up though. Saved the arms for another day. Hopefully a different outcome tonight..

Judge is in the same slump that A-Rod had in the 2007 playoffs, which was also embarrassing to watch. It's time for the franchise superstar to wake up.

I think it's time for the Yanks to move him out of the #2 spot in the lineup. I'd move Hicks up to 2nd. But the Yanks also need Sanchez to get going. Game 2 was one of the if not the worst game he has played in the majors. Should have made the play on the throw home to get Altuve by 15 feet in the 9th and he swung at pitches that he would have needed 3 bats taped together to hit.

agree Judge needs to be moved further down the line....

but putting in Ellsbury is not the answer. our DH's are like 0-15 in the playoffs or somethign insane like that.

not to mention the Gary Sanchez is an awful catcher. DEFINITELY should have held that ball and gotten him out at the plate. now, i can deal with having an offensive catcher but if your defense is lacking AND you are doing NOTHING in the playoffs, somethings gotta give...

Time really flies. This past weekend was the 25th anniversary of Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS when Francisco Cabrera and Sid Bream made combined for the last out heroics that sent Atlanta to the World Series and ended the Pirates as a viable team for two decades. Now a I feel old. I remember that game very clearly even though I was 11.

Great game, didn't think Frazier's hit would end up being a HR but I won't argue and speaking of HR's, great way for Judge to get out of his slump, hope he can keep it up but he also made a couple of great catches as well.

It was a great Yankees victory yesterday. I thought it was important to not have to use the big arms in the pen, although Kahnle did have to come in because Betances once again couldn't throw strikes. Betances simply cannot pitch in this series anymore. But that aside, today's game is going to be interesting because Gray has not pitched well and he hasn't pitched since game 1 of the ALDS. I would expect him to be rusty so the Yankees bats need to be on their game.

One thing I am concerned about is how little the Astros have hit in this series and yet they still have a 2-1 lead. If they get it going offensively, the Yanks are going to have a hard time keeping up with their offense.

This Yankees game reminded me of games I watched during the late 90's. For some reason, this team plays their best baseball when their back is against the wall. It makes it very stressful to watch but very satisfying when they eventually come back and win. The other thing that gets me is that the Yanks made a lot of mistakes in this game. They made more mistakes on the bases and committed 3 errors. For them to not let those mistakes hurt them and come back and win leads me to believe that something special is going on.

I was at the game this eve (sec 131/row 20/seat 19) and the place was dying to erupt. When they took a 4-0 lead, the place was still looking to erupt. When Judge hit that HR, the place exploded (I literally felt the ground shake under my feet). This season (including the PO) has been a learning experience for this team and they appear to be fast learners (which I'm sure that is worrying to the rest of the league).

I'm going tomorrow. I hope I get to experience what you did. Many are making comparisons between this team and 1996 but I think this is even more amazing. They came into this season with many believing they weren't even going to be a .500 team. In 1996, they had gone through a heartbreaking ALDS the year before losing to the Mariners in game 5 and they were one of the best teams in 1994 along with the Expos but the strike shortened the season. This team has come out of nowhere. Not saying they will win it all but you really have to appreciate how far they have come. Experience will indeed serve them well for the future.

One other thing to note...there are no soft landings for the Yanks either. They have to beat two 100 plus win teams to get to the world series and if they do get there, a third 100 plus win team will likely be waiting for them. Very difficult path to a championship and no home field advantage at all except in the wild card game.
