Last night I won two different full sized autographed bats on two different ‘breaks’. One was Jim Edmonds. The other? Willie Mays.

Who's ready for cardboard cutout fans in MLB stadiums? They're doing that in Taiwan.

Must be like diet soda, just like the real thing...

It's not the MLB, but ESPN will be airing Korea Baseball Organization League games six nights per week -- in the middle of the night -- starting tonight at 1 a.m. Eastern/10 p.m. Pacific. Not sure about rebroadcasts.

ESPN - Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium parking lots are full, and here's why

I wonder if they charge them $20 a day?

(only $10 a day at Anaheim Stadium, Arte Moreno is a humanitarian)

Also occuring in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center.

Owners approve a plan to start the season in July. Doesn't mean it'll happen, especially since they still have to bring this plan to the players, but here's what they're looking at:

An expansion of playoff teams from 10 to 14

An 82-game season

The use of home stadiums in areas that have local and state governmental approval

A so-called spring training 2.0 that begins in June with a season set for early July

A universal designated hitter

Geographical schedules, in which teams play only in-division opponents and interleague opponents in a similar area (i.e., American League Central teams play only AL Central and National League Central teams)

A 30-man roster with a taxi squad that would have upward of 50 players available

It mostly refers to the pool of marginal talent that flips back-and-forth between MLB and AAA when needed. Usually one-game relievers and back-up catchers for the most part.

Going to be tough for some teams to get through this without making some structural changes.

And the owners will still be billionaires despite losing all that money. I don't feel sorry for any of them.

Manfred has said the owners will lose about $4 billion if the season isn't played at all.

And these same owners are trying to squeeze the players and renege on their original agreement from March. They better change that stance or we will end up with no baseball.
The interesting thing about uber wealthy people and corporations is that they can spin their accounting to reflect loses. They do this so that they can short change the help and pocket everything for themselves.

Are these the same owners who overcharge for there product, overcharge for concessions, and overcharge for parking, to pay their overpaid players because of bad negotiations back in the 90's?

If they lose money this year I don't care, I feel no shred of pity when the rich cry money loss. I feel bad for those who lost loved ones during this crisis, I feel bad for the essential worker who's getting screwed on their salary to risk their lives helping others.

The rich will recover faster.

Here's an article from Calcaterra that gives a little insight into how the owner's are going to end up doing.

https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2020/05/19...tands-to-lose/

Another thing that the owners never mention is how their franchise values have at least doubled in the last few years.

I call pure bullshit on this, because the Yankees own YES network they clear 500m before a contract is signed and a single ticket is sold, everything post 250m is pure profit for them.

While I obviously don't feel sorry for the billionaire owners, neither do I feel sorry for the millionaire players. I think they have to reach a common ground somewhere because otherwise they all end up looking really selfish, considering that fans just want to see sports during this crisis.
