I'm a bit confused as well. While I loved La Russa as a manager, the game has changed a lot since he last managed, especially in regards to analytics (which I hate).

Teams are slashing payroll left and right. Most every team lost money playing in 2020 because of no ticket sales.

Robinson Cano has been suspended 162 games without pay for another failed PED test.

As a Mets fan of nearly 50 years I never liked the deal that brought him to the Mets in the first place.

I consider the suspension a plus for the Mets because his $24 million salary can now be used to pay another more productive/younger player. Though he'll still be owed $48 million for the '22-23 seasons, I'm hoping he's played his last game as a Met (and I believe he has).

With Steve Cohen's purchase of the team it is an exciting time to be a Mets fan after all the years of terrible ownership and poor decisions we've had to suffer through.

There's talk about using the Cleveland Buckeyes Negro League team name. Don't know if Ohio State would take issue though. Have there been two teams/institutions in the same state with the same nickname since there were two St. Louis Cardinals?

While he was a good coach, I couldn't stand watching his over managing style. King of pitching changes. Give me the crazy Ozzie Guillen any day!

I'm really surprised he came back. Retiring in the first place probably saved his life. Dude looked like a walking corpse during his last two coaching seasons. Why put your body and mind through that again?

Because I've had it up to my eyeballs with this 'woke' bullshit and spineless cowards caving to a vocal minority that is hell bent on destroying America and it's traditions/customs (and most likely doesn't even watch MLB). MLB wouldn't let them host the All-Star game if they didn't change the name. It was a simple quid pro quo situation mandated by Manfred and company. The official cover story is P.R., nothing more.

Apparently hosting an All-Star game is a big moneymaker for any team and MLB uses it as leverage over teams.
