Same against Cleveland where he brought in three runs when they were up by four.

The disappointing factor is BJ Ryan was solid in 2006 when he arrived, then he blew his first game and got injured and hasn't been the same since. It's like it's a confidence issue or something with him, and I'm sure the past injuries are holding their weight.

The Jays don't need to be blowing these early and winnable games, a win in April is just as valuable as a win in September, all it takes is one blown game like that to hurt their confidence as a team, good thing they escaped with the win.

Exactly, if you take all the blown games last April and added them to their winslast year, they probably won the wild card. These games are must wins and BJ is not the guy.

Yeah he was lights out in 2006 before his tommy john surgery.

Granted they are sure to blow some games late in the season because no team is perfect, but if they're off to this relatively solid start they need to keep it going as long as possible to keep them in the running.

HC666, any insight on who the closer would be if Ryan loses the role? Would it be Downs or Frasor?

Trying to get a head start in my fantasy league lol

Ah the Red Sox seem to have found their offense, up to 7 wins in a row now. Yesterday's double-header with the Twins actually wraps up a Home Stand Season Sweep vs the Twins, haha! They lost both games and don't come back to Fenway this year. Ther Sox do travel to Minnesota a bit later, though.

Steroid testing and injuries. He was listed on the Mitchell Report and his career has gone downhill since MLB started testing for steroids. However, Gagne also hasn't come back from the injury that cut his 2005 season short, so that could be the issue.

Yeah I remember that his name was in there I didn't think his injury back in 05was that bad.

That would actually be implying the O's would finish ahead of the Jays, if the Jays were hypothetically in last.

But good recovery from the Jays after that first game, too bad they didn't win all three, they need to strike while the iron's hot.

Yep... if they can somehow get 15 games over and then play .500 until near the end that would be ideal lol

I'm not a delusional fan though... Jays have alot of work and need alot of luck to win the AL East or a Wildcard. BUt you never know and we are due!

It was the surgery last year, he was unstoppable last year when teamed up with Doc, but then he went down for surgery and hasn't been the same since.
