The Yankees just traded Luis Cessa to the Reds along with Justin Wilson. This frees up some money for them if they want to stay under the luxury tax threshold.

It's a beautiful day in baseball. The Cubs "supposed" dynasty team from 2016 is no more. Good luck to Rizzo and Bryant in the future endeavors. Baez? He can suck it, arrogant SOB. Anyone meeting up with Wilson Contreras tonight at his favorite bar? He's really going to need a big hug.

never had so many players from my fantasy teams traded at the deadline before. Between the 2 teams had 8-10 players move teams.

Did anyone else watch the opening of the Field of Dreams game on Fox and notice that the clips from the film were cropped to 2.35.1? I wonder why they did that.

Was not a smart move to hold the game on opening night for NFL preseason, maybe watched the first couple minutes but switched for the pats game and never turned back again.

Seems like a waste if all that field will be used for is this game, i hope they find other ways to make use of it because it seemed like a cool backdrop.

I can't imagine wanting to watch pre-season football over last night's game, especially with the way it ended.

They are dismantling the field for now because it would require constant maintenance if they kept it up. They're keeping all of the materials, though. I imagine it will be used again for other events. It was a great setting for baseball, especially once it got dark. An annual MLB game on the field would be great.

Playing the game of America's past-time, centered around a movie, and building a stadium next to a cornfield specifically for one night is just about the most American thing I've ever seen.

America may be commercialized and trashy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

As a baseball fan, last night’s game on that field was perfect. From the opening with Costner to the players walking out on the field to the dramatic finish…it could not have been any better.

As a Yankees fan, the ending was another horrific moment I’ve had to witness this season. I can’t believe how many awful losses the Yanks have had and yet, they’re right in the playoff hunt. That being said, with this bullpen, I can’t imagine the Yanks going far this season if they do get to the playoffs. In fact, I’d almost put money on them blowing a huge game in the postseason, knocking them out. Seems to be that kind of year.

It was a pretty great experience watching last night, and what a finish. That moment when they all walked out from the corn field was just so incredible, and surreal. As a Yanks fan it does suck to see us blow so many games.

About how I felt as well. Yankees fan as well and it just isn't their year. The bullpen has been atrocious.

The game was great with a lot of fireworks (literally) but MLB did a great job planning and executing it. I thought Costner was going to throw out the first pitch but it looked like the ball had autographs on it. All in all, it will probably go down as one of the best sporting events in my lifetime.
