Cubs blow out the Astros 12-3, take 3 out of 4 in the series. They're now 11-3 in the second half of the season, and have scored at least 4 runs in 13 of their 14 games. Looks like getting Aramis back helped get the offense going.

Sounds like the Cubs are in the process of trading for the Pirates John Grabow, who will help fill their need for a left-handed relief pitcher. By the end of the week how many players are going to be left from the Pirates opening day roster? It seems like every trade involves the Pirates dumping players.

I bet Vernon Wells was also on the juice until after the 2006 season... funny how alot of these guy's numbers all started to go down hill around 2007ish.

I'm just gonna say this to get it over with, and this will apply to any Blue Jays who may be on the "List".

I AM SICK of the fans cheering these guys on the list, treating the Ortiz's, Manny's, A-Rod's as heros is totally disgusting.

If this was the NHL, these guys would be run out of town. But not in MLB where everything is twisted and it's all about a handfull of teams and selling hats for rap videos.

News breaks, Ortiz hits a home run and gets a curtain call... give me a break.

Release the damn list already and lets get this over with.

Sherrill's a free agent after the season I believe, so the Orioles might as well get something and save themselves the remaining million dollars on his contract. It's not like they are in a playoff race.

So the Cubs completed their trade with the Pirates and got Tom Gorzelanny in addition to John Grabow. I'm curious if they're planning on using Gorzelanny as a starter while Lilly is hurt, and the next time one of their starters is hurt (their top 4 starters have all spent time on the DL this year). I'm not really happy about them trading Kevin Hart. He has pitched well recently.

NHL and NFL they'll most likely be banned because they smack each other around. In MLB you hit a ball. But I get what you're saying. I just don't find it shocking anymore I guess because I'm not there biggest fan. I remember the whole McGwire crap. I didn't want to believe it. But so far I haven't heard if he tested positive. He was hitting them out of the park even when he was a 19 year old skinny guy. The only other person I'll be shocked to see is Pujols.

true but unless you start paying talented players they will always remain where they are.

what happens when jones, reimold, wieters all need checks?

him and hendrickson are about our only bright spots in the rotation. Thanks to the yankees they proved you could have the best hitters but if you have zero pitching no wsc.

Really enjoy the baseball trade deadline, so many rumors, hard to keep track of them all. Sounds like the Red Sox are trying hard to get Victor Martinez and Clay Bucholtz would be the main player in the trade, and are trying to get Adrian Gonzalez from San Diego as well. The Mariners traded Jerrod Washburn to the Tigers for 2 young pitchers. The Mariners also said there was heavy interest in Felix Hernandez but the price for him would be astronomical, likely higher than Halladay's. He's only 23 and is signed through 2011. If he stays as good as he's been when he's a free agent he could be looking at an A Rod sized contract.

Difficult to say but you can't underestimate them. Last season was just...

not seeing them in the playoffs was very weird.

They're doing well after the break. It very well may be another Yankees/Red Sox ALCS. I'm really impressed with the Dodgers. I'd love to see a Yankees/Dodgers WS.

The Padres traded Jake Peavy to the White Sox, and he agreed to waive his no-trade clause.

Have heard rumblings that Halladay was traded to the Angels but nothing concrete, and I'm doubting it happened.

Edit: It's now confirmed that Halladay wasn't traded.

Yeah, I doubt this will play out in their favor missing a chance to stack their team with three quality players.
