If people get so triggered over one single vote out of like 400, they really need to reevaluate their priorities in life.

Babe Ruth was left off 11 ballots in his HOF election people. Get a grip.

Jeter was a fine player. but he wasn't even a top-25 player of all-time. I'd probably put him in the #35-50 range. Plenty of better players haven't received 100% of the HOF votes.

thats exactly the point though, theyre being left off intentionally in order to NOT get 100% of the vote, which is just stupid.

lets go with Jeter from your example. youre saying that the 50th greatest baseball player of all time doesnt get 100% of the vote? why

every better player you speak SHOULD have received 100% of the vote, its just dumb voters making a point that they dont want anyone getting 100% vote.

What does it say when only Marino Rivera is the only player in hof voting history to receive 100 percent of the vote. Jeter and Suzuki both missed by 1 vote. Even the best pitcher of our time Nolan Ryan didn't get 100 percent and that's just wrong. These writers are idiots and the system needs to be fixed or at least not be anonymous.

“This is an issue that we need to be vigilant on,” Manfred said following the end of an owners’ meeting. “We need to pay attention to it and need to determine whether there are things that can be done to allay those kinds of concerns and make sure we have a competitive and healthy game going forward.”

The AL champion New York Yankees — one of baseball’s biggest spenders for decades — even have concerns about where the game is going on the financial front, and how it’s challenging to match the way the Dodgers can spend.

Players oppose a salary cap and fought off a proposal with a 7 1/2-month strike in 1994-95, leading to the cancellation of the World Series.

“I wish it would be the case that we would have a salary cap in baseball the way other sports do, and maybe eventually we will, but we don’t have that now,” new Baltimore Orioles owner David Rubenstein told Yahoo Finance at the World Economic Forum. “I suspect we’ll probably have something closer to what the NFL and the NBA have, but there’s no guarantee of that.”
