Just Yankee related. Old Bob retired. He is 99 so it was about time to hang up his hat. He hasn't been to the stadium in over a year. He is the voice of the Yankees.

I heard this news earlier, and was kind of sad. It seemed like in the last few seasons he was adamant about not being retired, and I wonder if his health got worse, and that prompted him to decide to finally just retire, instead of holding out hope of returning to the stadium.

I've been following the Halladay story very closely. It's going to be interesting. If the Yanks pursue him, the rotation will be outstanding. The Yanks will have to probably sacrifice Hughes. They won't give up Joba. However, I'm beginning to like the 7,8,9 matchup that enabled the Yanks to shut down the WS. Melky Cabrera?

Andy(if he came back)

and then have a settled in Joba, a increasingly productive Marte and Mario closing it out

melk sucks(as a hitter, at least for how far he is into his career), hughes is still a big ? And Johnny while productive could be replaced with someone just as productive.

To get a shut down pitcher and not put as much pressure on CC that would do 10 fold more, but I hope you're right that would be my nightmare him in NY
