Ugh, the Sox. Built around pitching - too bad the pitching is awful. Seems like all starters have an ERA above 5. Bad times, Theo has his work cut out for him.

Its really confusing because almost all the guys aren't getting better but worse lol, I expected Dice-K to come back strong (hasn't), Lackey seems to be pulling his weight, as usual Wakefield is a toss up, and Lester has been up and down which is shocking.

I don't know whats happen to Pap, Bard while can crush the radar gun isn't making the progress I thought either.

Its worse then last year with how bad Smoltz was doing.

You can now say that Andre Ethier IS the Triple Crown holder. He leads the league with a .365 avg, 26 rbi's, and is tied for a league leading 9 home runs. The man is a STUD.

And I think Torre should had let Kuroda pitch the 9th. He was so efficient yesterday that he was under the 100 pitch count after pitching the 8th inning. Oh well. I have noticed that our starting rotation IS starting to turn it around which is really nice to see. Billingsley looks good, Kuroda is solid, and Kershaw looks good too.

Did anyone see the 17-year old fan get tasered yesterday at the Phillies game after running on the field? They were talking about it on Mike and Mike this morning and whether the police officer that tasered the fan used excessive force. The city of Philadelphia is investigating the matter and the fan will be charged with criminal trespass. I personally don't have a problem with using a taser on the fan. Security at stadiums is pretty poor and there's no way of knowing if the fan had a knife or some sort of weapon. However, I can understand people having a problem with tasing the fan, as tasers have killed hundreds of people, including last week in Florida.

I have no problem at all when someone is tasered for running on the field because you don't know what their intentions are... Especially since just 2 days earlier and only 80 miles away someone parked a VBIED in Times Square with the intent on killing people... What if this kid had a bomb on his chest and he planned on running into the dugout?...

There's no reason to run on to the field, and I say let the police do whatever they need to in order to end it...

thats fine and dandy but they need to make it clear what kind of force will be used if people run onto the field... how many times have people run on the field over the years and ive never heard of someone being tased... let a lone a 17 year old kid... its ridiculous...tighten up security if youre worried about bombs, knifes, or guns....wait until someone dies from being tased in front of all those fans and little kids and such...very poor decision on the cops part imo

I remember listening to him as a kid here in Indy and getting Detroit games on the AM. At night we could get the best signal. He was one of the best ever. Vin is truly the last of the legends. Well you could include Marty Brennamen or Bob Uecker.

Maybe he wanted to see if he'd get Taser-ed too?

I'd fall on the side that thinks using a Taser is a big excessive. Sure, he's an idiot for running on the field, but he poses no threat to anyone, and is just goofing off. Catch up and tackle him.

If getting arrested isn't deterring people from running onto a field, I doubt the fear of getting Taser-ed will either, so using one can only make things worse (even if they're safe 99% of the time).

Good start to this 9 game west coast trip! A 5-2 win over the M's in Seattle! Big game James with his 4 straight win, going 8 strong innings, allowing 2ER, striking out 10 and improves to 4-0 on the year! 10-1 on the road and 19-7 on the year! Go Rays!

Maybe this is already the case, but I think if someone runs on the field they deserve a lifetime ban from all MLB stadiums. I don't know if this would prevent anyone from running on the field, but at least it would keep some of those idiots away from the games. In reality it would be nearly impossible to enforce a ban like this, but if you do catch them at a game you could charge them with criminal trespassing.

I am so glad the Cubs were able to dump Milton Bradley on the Mariners. I don't know why teams keep giving Bradley a chance, his production does not exceed his poor attitude. Luckily the Mariners had given up on Carlos Silva so they gave the Cubs $9 million to take Silva off their hands and took Bradley, who the Cubs would have released and paid $21 million to buy out. A month into the season Bradley has already become a cancer, while Silva is 2-0 with a 2.90 ERA and quality starts in 4 of his 5 appearances.

Me too. Byrd has been a much better player on and off the field than Bradley.
