Sports Illustrated had a most overrated poll in 2008 in which Jeter was named most overrated and A Rod was fourth. It really shows the hate (or some may say jealousy) opposing players have for the Yankees though, with the top 3 vote getters for overrated plus one of the players tied for fourth. Can't say I really disagree about Joba though. He's been hyped forever as the next great thing and it's never happened.

Yeah, I agree that being a Yankee automatically adds some overrated-ness to any player, but Joba is still overrated regardless.

I'm not sure what kind of attention he was getting outside of NY, but he was certainly hyped up here. Sure, he's good, but he's not great. Their biggest mistake was trying to make him a starting pitcher, which I think is what he wanted to be. I don't know why he couldn't accept being Rivera's successor. As a 1-inning guy, he was pretty intimidating. His brief stint as a SP seemed to ruin that.

Yeah really (if thats true ) Rivera is beloved at least from what I see not to mention he will go down as one of the greatest closers ever why wouldn't that be good enough to try to emulate lol.

10-5 is a pretty good record. If you win 2/3 of your games, you're doing great, on pace for 108 wins.

I have some editing software, but I "make" all my avatars by just copying the image off websites/YouTube clips/etc.

In the rare event you have a Mac, just hit Shift + Command + 4, and then select the part you want to capture. In this case, I just drew the box around his face on some random news article I read.

Seriously, outside the Al East there are like 2 good teams this season so far(in the AL). Time for Mr Selig to do something about this. If the jays were in the Central, a division they historically beat up on, there is no way we would have a 17 year playoff drought.

Get rid of divisions. Just have AL and NL once again. Play each team equal times. Get rid of the AL playing the NL in the regular season... which is totally unfair and causes much unblanace. The Jays played the Phillies 6 times last season while other teams got to play the Pirates and only play the Phils 3 times. And i'm sure there were other situations where a good team got to play all crappy teams while a struggling team had to play top teams. And I also hate seeing pitchers bat... pointless.

Cubs got swept by the Pirates in a pathetic offensive series, with only 5 runs in 3 games. This team is so hot and cold, it doesn't seem like there's any in-between. They seem to either have losing streaks or winning streaks at all times. Their starters have been very good (last night's outing by Wells was a rare poor performance) but the offensive seems to collectively go cold. In Tom Gorzelany's 3 losses he's gotten an average of 2 runs from the Cubs offense. The Cubs can't improve much though because they've got so much money wrapped up in Soriano, Zambrano, and Ramirez, all of whom have multiple years left on their deal.

Desperate for offense the Cubs have called up their top prospect, SS Starlin Castro. They will move current SS Ryan Theriot to second base. I don't know why they wouldn't move Theriot to third and bench Aramis Ramirez. He has been horrible this season. He's hitting .148, whereas current second baseman Mike Fontenot, who is getting benched, is hitting .296. I would guess the fact that Aramis is due over $30 million over the next 2 seasons is helping him stay in the lineup.

S-word jinx proven false, they did sweep the A's after all! Despite Matsuzaka's shakey, 4-0 first inning. He settled down, stayed in for 6, and got the win. Nice. Over .500 for the first time this season.

lol when I saw that I thought the same thing he needs to sit. Hopefully Castro can bring some light the way Wieters did for us last year.
