Phils prevented the sweep thanks to RAAUULLLL Ibanez.
The Phillies rotation would be:
Roy Halladay
Roy Oswalt
Cole Hamels
Jamie Moyer

I sure as hell hope they don't pickup Oswalt. That would give them one of the best rotations I've ever seen. They are already the best team in the NL without him. With him they are easily favored to win another title.

Schilling always gets the credit for the 2001 World Series but Randy Johnson was the real MVP of that series. Johnson won games 2 and 6 of the series going 16 innings giving up only 2 runs then came back for game 7 on 1 day rest to shut down the Yankees in the 9th inning for his third win.
2003 was tough for me to watch. 2001 is still my favorite World Series that I've been alive for. Even though the Yankees ended up losing, that's probably the most exciting series I've ever seen. Game 4 was crazy. For the same thing to happen in Game 5 was unbelievable. A Yankees title seemed inevitable at that part. Game 6 was a huge question mark and a giant 'Huh?'. Game 7 started as a classic pitching duel, then the Yankees looked like they'd prevail, and ultimately lost. So great. Except for maybe that last half-inning.

I know what you mean. When I saw Mariano going in for the 9th inning of game 7 I was 100% sure the Yankees were going to hold off the D-Backs. But even the all-time greats have their down day.

Personally my favorite World Series of all-time was 1991. Like you, my team fell in seven classic games. Jack Morris's performance in game 7 is still the best pitching performance I have EVER seen. You will never again see a starter go 10 shutout innings in a World Series game.

The 2001 World Series is probably a close second for me with 1993, 1995 and 1997 right up there.

Hopefully, but I'll also take 2 of 3!

I see your Jays are 6 games back from us and only 1 game back from the Yanks! The Jays have been quietly good!

Yes the Jays are playing well Hopefully stay above .500 this year and keep building. With the new President and GM we're finally going in the right direction and not signing washed up losers like we did between 1996 to 2008. It didn't work lol

Build a core! Something we did have in the 80s and early 90s. Halladay was NOT a core. I can't count the number of useless players that have put a Jays uniform on since the mid 90s... and the money wasted... oh my! Frank Thomas and BJ Ryan come to mind for recent huge mistakes.

We won in this division in the past, and with the right plan we will win again.

As I mentioned early to either you or another Rays fan... good luck this season. You have a great team, this is your time to shine.

1992 and 1993 are my faves for the obvious reason... the Blue Jays won lol Brings a tear to my eye every time I see Joe carter's game 6 winning home run for 1993. Brings me back to the moment it happened.

But also really liked 1991's WS. Kirby Pucket... does it get any better?

Because they were playing the Rays.

Yankee games don't sell out as much since they've moved stadiums, and jacked up the ticket prices. Weekends may be a different story, but I don't think you'll see many weekday sellouts.

I don't think they had a ton of sellouts last year either (especially not early on in the season... but they couldn't even sellout the ALCS), but they still led the AL in attendance.

Friend of mine went to Yankee Stadium last weekend for the first time(Yanks and twins), sat somehere just inside the foul pole in right field. He said it was great out there but could see alot of empty seats around the infield and was surprised. I explained to him that you had to be a famous rapper to afford those seats lol

I haven't checked in a while. Earlier in the season, it cost almost 3x as much ($135) to sit in the 2nd row of left field as it did last year ($50). Granted, my tickets were off StubHub, and I don't think the face value of the tickets have changed much, if at all (currently $90, don't remember what they were last year).

That's just for one section that I liked sitting in, so I don't know what it's like around the rest of the stadium.

Edit: Checked now, and there are two tickets available in that section for a Monday night game against the Indians in a week and a half. $156 per ticket... so I'm guessing people have warmed up to the prices a bit, and people who buy/resell tickets might actually be able to make their money back this season. Last year I saw them play the Angels (a better team than Cleveland) for far less. But I think people were still scared of the stadium prices back then, so resellers had to drop their prices a lot just to sell them.

I wish Oswalt would come to the Marlins? Johnson needs a sidekick. Plus, it would make us contenders for the pennant. Damn, it would be sweet.

Go Doyers!! (Dodgers). SD and SF slump has allowed us to sneak back in there with this lil run of wins.
