The NFL, NHL and NBA are also businesses. Yet they have salary caps to help level the playing field. New York being the biggest market is obviously the beneficiary of such an un-level playing field. The Yankees have 27 championships. The other 7 NYC metro professional teams have a grand total of 18 championships all-time. But I'm sure that's just some crazy coincidence. Cue the predictible "OMGZ Yankee haters!!!" responses.

The only reason a salary cap will never happen in MLB is because the players union won't let it happen. Also, did you ever think that also the Yankees have been around longer than the other NY teams? Also, you neglect to mention that the Yankees pay the most out of the revenue sharing. I love it when the haters go out of their way to make the Yankees look evil but if their team had the Yankees success, they would be defending them. Besides, even if MLB got a salary cap, it still wouldn't affect the Yankees as much as you would like it to.

I just don't respect records reached by known juicers, to me it's disrespectful to the integrity of the game and all the players who didn't juice and actually earned their lofty achievements.

I also have no respect for alot of them but majority MLB players from 1995-2005 probably juiced at one point or another... I'd say the number is like 75% of them did it

It's almost too late now to take all these records back. People will have to accept it was part of the game. I still think Bud Selig should be kissing Mark Mcguire and Sammy Sosa's feet and thanking them daily for returning the game to the level it is. Baseball was in the dumps thanks to the strike and those 2 made it a national story again and brought back millions of fans. They did cheat but baseball needed them.

That's a very good point. No one watched baseball back then and Sammy and Mark made it exciting again.
