Has the potentail of being the next Joe Mauer
He's having a very good year but this is one of the strongest years ever in terms of NL rookies. The frontrunner is Jason Heyward, and Stephen Strasburg, Mike Stanton, Starlin Castro, David Freese, Tyler Colvin and Gaby Sanchez have all been good. Still, if Posey can keep up even near his current pace he'll have a great shot at ROY.

There's more to being a catcher than just your batting average. There's also throwing ability, ability to tag runners out at home, ability to help your pitchers do well, etc.

funny you mention that becuase Posey can do all of that pretty well

I'm not saying hes better than Mauer in any way.. I'm just saying he def has the potential to be just as good...

I guess they figure the home team isn't doing much to keep the attention of Oriole fans. May as well just sit back and laugh when something like this happens.

Earlier in the season I thought Heyward was a slam-dunk for Rookie of the Year. Not so sure now. His average had dropped down near .250 but he's back up to .276 and on pace for 20 HR/86 RBI. He's probably still the favorite with Gabe Sanchez, Posey and Strasburg still in the picture.

That's a pathetic police department. It took them about 2 mins to get him and that was because the just stopped running. If that was at Yankees stadium, they would have caught him in 2 seconds. That guy could have attacked a player and harmed them. The cops should tazered his ass. Perhaps, the Baltimore PD can't afford them.

You are probably right. As funny as it is to watch this sort of thing probably it only encourages more on-field incidents. Heck, in Philly the crowd chants for a good ol-fashion tazering. I mean what's the point of paying security if they don't do anything?

I'm starting to think there is a correlation between security and ball clubs. In places with successful teams like NY Yankees or Philadelphia the cops will beat the crap out of you or taze you within 30 seconds if you try that sort of thing. In Baltimore it seems like the security force is similar to the team - lazy, halfass job and just doesn't give a damn.

Maybe the Orioles should give that fan a spot on the team. He showed more hustle there than most of the players.

I really did hate seeing that guy injured for the better part of two seasons. He really looked like a future ace a few years ago. Good to see him making a strong comeback.

Now it's 9-0 with 2 out and 1 on, I have a feeling if Mauer gets a double, Texiera is going to take a seat on the bench.
