It was a great game. I enjoyed watching A-rod slam 2 over the fence. He was responsible for all 4 Yankee runs tonight. What is the deal with AJ's black eye? He said no comment in the interview. Either he got hit by his wife or someone had an altercation in the clubhouse with him. He definitely got slugged good though! It sure did make him pitch well tonight.

Not happy that Slowey lost but the White Sox got waxed so our magic number is 7 so at least there's that.

He has pretty much blown our whole bullpen up with the way he abused them and is pathetic at situational decisions. I don't know how he acted with the Yankees but in the three years he's been here he has shown no fire in him. I swear every time he confronts an ump he's acting like he's having a tea party with them.

He threw in the towel on his team awhile ago. And as much as people want to blame the owners, Torre and his coaching staff are still high paid professionals. They should be able to rile this team up somehow instead of letting it slip out of hand with the way this team is laying down now. Torre and his staff are absolutely at fault!

He will not be missed by me and alot of other Dodger fans. And we are certainly not looking forward to his clone Mattingly.
Very spot on steve, I just had this discussion with my son last night and that is the exact stance he takes, Torre couldn't manage in the NL if he was in charge of the best team available, and I really feel like he is bailing, first report says a few Dodger stars are looking to get out of LA then this Torre says he is going to retire from managing baseball then late last night ESPN reports that he changed his stance on the retiring quote and just might come back again if the circumstances were just right, he knows he can't fix what he just managed to dismantle to some extent so he is bailing, probably a good thing if you want to remain a die hard Dodger Fan.

* I agree that he threw in the towel and that's where my anger comes from, only in a sporting way seeing as I am not even remotely a fan of LA but I do love good sports.

I was noticing that during the game. The funny thing was that he was wearing his cap real low but still couldn't hide it (he should have worn the low crown version of the Yankee cap if he really wanted to hide it).

I guess it was Blackburn after all and not Slowey last night, hope Slowey can make up for Blackburn's poor performance.

The proof that Joe threw in the towel was when he became the owners lapdog and benched Manny Ramirez. Frank McCourt wanted to move Manny desperately to save 4 million of his salary. Manny had been on the DL 3 times this year I believe and had just come off his latest stint. So to protect that asset named Manny he had Joe Torre bench him right before he was traded. The Dodgers were still in the playoff hunt and had made up alot of ground because of the SD collapse. Now I'm not saying Manny would have done anything of importance if he finished the season with LA but I firmly believe that move sent a message to his team that he had given up on them. And the rest is history and the Dodgers have layed down in epic proportions.

Torre could have flat out said "screw you" to the FO, man up and led his team. He knew he was going to retire from this team next year so he had nothing to lose. What was the FO going to do, fire a hall of fame manager for doing his job? Instead he took the cowards way out and lied to Dodger fans by giving ridiculous reasons to why he was benching Manny such as "it's just a feeling I have". Good riddance.

Can you believe how Tulowitzki is playing? The man has 14hrs in 15 games!!! Only 2 other people since 1900 have done that. Albert Belle and Barry Bonds.

Twins magic number is now 6 as they win 4-2 and the White Sox continue to fade.

I do like the Twins' attitude, they basically say nothing is locked up and they have a lot to play for, guess they want that #1 seed that seemed like a pipe dream before the All Star break.

I wouldn't disagree. On the other hand you guys have only scored a total of 9 more runs than the Dodgers in the month of Sep so I wouldn't be throwing stones. I think it's safe to say both of our teams offense sucks.

Pretty bad day for SF huh? Rockies, Padres and Braves gain ground on you! Don't worry though you'll get those mighty Brewers tomorrow!

Would you rather have the Royals' offense? That thing is horrible! Not sure where all the National League bats have gone, thinking to the Reds and the Rockies, maybe the Phillies.

Actually the Dodgers have really good starting pitching, but its our bullpen that blows chunks. Regarding both of our aces, seeing as they both came out of the same draft at this point I'd much rather have Kershaw than Lincecum. And speaking of him It's about time that anorexic pothead started pitching well again.

I'm actually a moderate Dodgers fan because of where I used to live(Albuquerque) and it annoys me a bit that they haven't been good in a long time. Glad they pawned Manny off on the White Sox and he got even worse, that's hilarious.

I find it shocking that he only has 1 RBI in 48AB. Do the WhiteSox never get anyone on base or is it just Manny sucking?

It's Manny sucking, at one point he was 10 hits on 37 plate appearances, all singles. Dude just isn't good any more, might be time for him to retire.
