Just our luck.. first playoff birth in 8 years and we have to face the hottest/best team in Baseball... Great

... I think our pitching matches up well with the Phillies if not better.. Offense is a whole other story

1/2 a game as far as standings go but 1 1/2 games for division winner because Tampa has the tiebreaker... If by chance they both finish in 1st Tampa automatically wins the division, so NY has to finish 1 game ahead to win it...

It's looking pretty good right now for Bobby Cox to make a playoff appearance in his final season. The Braves swept the Mariners, putting them 2 games up as of right now, with the Padres yet to play today.

I'm not a Braves fan whatsoever, but it would be cool to see Cox go out in the playoffs, rather than at the end of the regular season.

I thought the Twins' 5 game losing streak was bad, Yankees have lost 6 of 8.

Also makes it harder to use ageless slugger Jim Thome in the DH spot, now I guess we'll have to settle for letting him pinch hit for say Hudson or Span.

Pads lose to the Cubs today and will have to sweep the Giants for a shot at the NL West. Although, they are 2 back in the WC and the Braves are facing the Phillies. Should be an interesting weekend.
