With the Giants offense he just might do that. Should be a battle of the pitchers though. I can't root for either of these teams, ugh. Come on Texas!!

It's the end of an era for me. I started watching Braves games in 1987 when I was seven years old. I grew up on the Braves and especially on Bobby Cox. I can barely remember the days when the Braves existed before Bobby. He was one of the greats and I'll miss him. Pretty much my only link to the 90's left is Chipper and he's basically gone too. Baseball isn't the same for me without Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Cox and Co.

Oh well... I'll always have the memories.

Best of luck to the Giants in any case. I don't think they can beat Philly in a 7 game series but I'll be rooting for them.

Yes they have, and I'll be rooting for them against Philly. But really they barely beat a severely depleted Braves team. Winning a 7 game series against Halladay, Oswalt and Hamels is another thing entirely. I wish they luck though. Upsets can and do happen.

i know its going to be really tough to beat the Phillies... but anything can happen... It was nice to see the fans and the Giants players/coaches all clapping and giving Bobby Cox a standing ovation.. he definitely deserves it!!! I'm not even a fan of the Braves and seeing Cox go even got me teary eyed.. Wish him the best...

I'll admit I got a little bit teary eyed as well.

Torre...not really. I guess it's because I'm so used to seeing the Braves for the past two decades and never really watched the Yankees all that time.

I'm hoping for the best at least. As long as they stay try their hardest they could pull out on top. I'm not saying they will, but we made it this far, so we definitely have a shot if we put up a good fight!

yea i agree...the way things are looking as of now... we have a pretty favorable advantage being that Price and Lee wont be able to pitch game 1 on Friday...so hopefully we can take advantage of that and get some early wins...
