When are the seasonal awards being announced?

Ya, can't have a couple people on random sports message board doubt the Yankees.

Phillies are favored for good reason. Last year the Phillies had to rely on Pedro Martinez to start 2 games out of 7. I'd say Oswalt is quite a bit of an upgrade.

I have no problem admitting that the Phillies are the favorite this year. They are no worse at any position than they were last year, and the pitching staff seems to be a lot better this year, between acquisitions and players pitching better. The Yankees aren't as good in a few spots as they were in '09, and I think Texas is going to be a bigger hurdle than most think. No WS guarantees coming from me.

Hmmm...I do agree that Texas will be no easy hurdle. It's going to be a great series fight to the Fall Classic. This is definitely going game 6-7. The beer/jalapeno poppers/hotdogs/pizza will be flowing in my house tonight.

They aren't announced until after the World Series. I'm not sure if they've announced the dates awards are announced, but last year they started the announcements on November 16 with the Rookies of the Year announcement, AL Cy Young on the 17th, Managers of the Year on the 18th, NL Cy Young on the 19th, AL MVP on the 23rd, and NL MVP on the 24th.

That's why I'm being realistic. If CJ Wilson can't get at least one win, and the rest of the rotation keeps us alive long enough to get Lee two starts, then I'd say we're in pretty good shape.

And to your point, these aren't the same Rangers either. Much of September saw Josh miss a ton of games, and Kinsler not yet back. Those are two of our biggest guns. And I don't expect Josh to swing his bat as poorly as he did in the Rays series.

i understand that.... im just saying, its not ridiculous to think the yankees can win it... basically every year... like the Lakers... as long as they have Kobe and a good supporting cast...

I don't think it's ridiculous to to think the Yankees can win it all. They have alot of playoff experience and depth to their team. In fact I don't think its a stretch to say all 4 teams have a good shot.

I'm a Blue Jays fan, and I despise the Phillies much more than any other team. I'm praying that the Yankees can beat them.
